Shake off the January blues and join us for a night of laughs with the hilarious John Colleary and a lineup of great acts at The Comedy Lodge! Support on the night from Aideen McQueen, Shannon Basso Gaule, Taran O'Sullivan, Alex J. Byrne, Elizabeth Redmond, and your MC for the night Stephen Robert-Walters. About the Acts A talented actor and mimic, John Colleary recently featured as one third of The Gusset Brothers on The Tommy Tiernan Show (RTE1). He now brings his brand new show Head Like A Shed to the Linenhall. Colleary has also scooped a PPI award for his topical sketch writing and performance on Today FMs drivetime flagship, The Last Word. A regular at Kilkenny Cat Laughs, Vodafone Comedy Carnival and Electric Picnic, to name a few, John Colleary is definitely one to watch. In 2023, John embarked on his own national tour, John Colleary: Loud & Colleary, which saw him travel to to Ballyshannon, Westport, Ballina, Wexford, Greystones, Dundalk, Drogheda, Belfast, Dublin, Kilkenny, Portlaoise, Athlone, Limerick & Galway Comedy Festival. John Colleary is my favourite comic, I learned so much from him... playful, inventive and brilliant. The best. - Tommy Tiernan John Colleary delivered what can only be described as a flawless set. - GO Belfast Aideen McQueen Spontaneous (in the losing her keys rather the kitesurfing way), Aideen McQueen is one of the brightest sparks in the new generation of Irish comics. She’s sassy, sexy, saucy and, most importantly, side-splittingly funny. Aideen appears regularly on RTE, TG4, BBC Northern Ireland and BBC Radio 4. She is one of the resident comperes at the world famous International Comedy Club in Dublin and has appeared alongside such acts as Sean Hughes, Reginald D Hunter, Ardal O’Hanlon, Dylan Moran, Johnny Vegas, Phil Kay and Frankie Boyle. She has performed at many festivals including The Vodafone Comedy Festival, The Electric Picnic Festival and Prague Comedy Festival. In 2023 she had two sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival and was Nominated for Best Performer in the Dublin Fringe Festival and Galway Arts Festival. “Just so funny” - Irish Times “Plays brilliantly with the crowd” - Irish Independent “Best young comic I’ve seen in ages” - Arthur Smith Shannon Basso Gaule is an award winning Carlow comedian, who has been gigging non stop since his return from New Zealand in 2021. Shannon started 2024 with a bang ny making his debut at the Interantional comedy club and winning the Ha! Ha! Hawkswell comedy competition which was part of the So Funny Sligo comedy festival and had been supporting Stephen Mullan on his Irish Tour. He started his career in New Zealand in 2019 and won the Best Newcomer award by the NZ comedy guild in 2020. From there, he toured the country with two shows he co-produced Booze and Craic and Lucky to Be Here. While also making appearances at the Classic Comedy Club. Since moving back home, he has gigged all over Ireland and Europe; making appearances at Cherry Comedy,The International, Coco Comedy Club in Cork, The Craic Den Dublin, Hardy Har Bray, Cosmic Comedy in Berlin, and The Comedy Clubhouse in Barcelona. Shannon made his debut on the festival circuit this year, hosting the comedy tent at the Carlow Arts Festival, appearing at Body & Soul and All Together now. He has supported Irish comedy legend John Collearly and mostly recently supported Steve Hughes on the Carlow leg of his Irish tour. Shannon was runner up in Irelands longest running comedy competition Show me the Funny in 2023 and a finalist in 2022. IG: @sbgcomedy @actingthemaggotpod Taran O’Sullivan is quickly making a big impact on the Irish comedy scene; not only for her dry, sardonic wit, but also via the accolades she has jotted up to date.. She’s one of Cherry Comedy’s Breakout Acts, a Funny Women Semi-finalist and a finalist in Bray’s new comedian of the year competition. And if all that wasn’t enough, she’s also a contributor to RTE’s incredibly popular show Callan’s Kicks. Seen at the best comedy festivals in the country, such as Paddy Power to name a few, Taran is one to watch! Elizabeth Redmond is a comic of many years originally from Houston, Texas, but she asks that you don't hold that against her. Her father was from Dublin and she got back as soon as she could. If you enjoy dark humour with a dash of filth, generational trauma, bitter ex-husbands, and mother-in-laws fruitier than bat shit, you may find her relatable. If you enjoy various silly accents, impressions and getting yelled at in Spanish, she is the comic for you. And if you're offended by her material, that only turns her on. Don't say we didn't warn you! Alex J. Byrne is an incredibly unique and engaging comic with his hilarious blend of magic tricks and clean cut comedy, having cut his teeth on the Irish comedy circuit as well as many comedy festivals such as: The Brighton Fringe Festival, Dublin International Comedy Film Festival, and Glasgow Comedy Festival amongst many more! Alex has toured, performed, and headlined around the world with his fun-filled onstage persona, that inevitably spills off stage! In 2024, Alex toured his show Magic Mic around Ireland and Europe including a run of sold out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The Dublin Jazz Co-op Presents: Joanna Mattrey & Nick Roth Curated by Jenna Harris Experience an afternoon of bold and boundary-pushing music with violist Joanna Mattrey and saxophonist Nick Roth at the Dublin Jazz Co-op. Joanna Mattrey combines free improvisation, contemporary composition, and classical techniques to create performances that are both innovative and deeply immersive. Known for her use of extended techniques and electronic effects, Joanna has worked with artists like Tyshawn Sorey, Henry Threadgill, and John Zorn, earning her reputation as a “force of nature” (Foxydigitals). Nick Roth is a saxophonist and composer who explores the intersection of music, science, and storytelling. His work blends improvisation and composition while drawing inspiration from collaborations with scientists, poets, and visual artists. Curated by Jenna Harris, this event promises an inspiring and unique musical experience you won’t want to miss. Information Source: The Dublin Jazz Co-op | eventbrite
