After first collaborating as part of their wind quintet, Festivo Winds, Holly and Andy began performing as a duo. In their freelance careers, they have performed with orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, CBSO, Hallé and BBC NOW. They perform widely as a duo, both at recital series across the South East and as Live Music Now Artists, delivering concerts and workshops in settings such as SEND schools, hospitals, and care homes to those who are less able to access music readily. The Mellor-Redshaw Duo present imaginative programmes of music for clarinet and bassoon, featuring creative arrangements ranging from operatic arias and classical duos, to folk music and jazz classics. Andy also has roots as a saxophonist and brings the jazz influence to the duo, and Holly is a keen folk-music explorer in her spare time. Andy Mellor (clarinet) Hailing from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, Andy Mellor enjoys a lively and varied career as a freelancing clarinettist. In 2022, he performed Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto with the City of Stoke-on-Trent Symphony Orchestra at King’s Hall, Stoke-on-Trent, and in 2018, performed as a soloist alongside the RNCM Symphony Orchestra at their high-profile tribute concert to Sir John Manduell, which was later recorded and featured on Prima Facie Records.
