Following the hour-long conversation will be an opportunity to get crafty with a hands-on embroidery activity. Materials will be provided. No experience necessary. Books will also be available for sale. Shannon Downey, aka Badass Cross Stitch, is an artist, activist, craftivist, community builder, and general instigator. She moves people from passive consumers of art into engaged creators. Shannon leverages craft-based art forms to bring people together and offers them opportunities to transition from makers to change makers. Her work is about telling the truth and confronting harsh realities while simultaneously inspiring radical hope and a vision for what is possible. Megy Karydes is a Chicago-based writer, author, book coach, and communications professional. She helps mission-driven leaders and organizations tell stories that matter. In addition to his affiliations with the University of Michigan, Prof. Norton is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research in the Health Economics Program and in the Economics of Aging Program. His research interests in health economics include econometrics, long-term care and aging, and pay-for-performance. He was the Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Scholars in Health Policy Research at the University of Michigan. We are excited to once again offer this opportunity to all current AEA Stage Managers in the greater Chicago area. Each attendee will have the opportunity to sit down for a series of short, 5-minute interviews with some of the leading theatre companies in Chicago. These theatres are looking for a range of candidates to fill positions that are available now and in the near future. Each session will last one hour and offer each attendee the opportunity to market themself and network within the Chicago theatre community. This is especially appropriate for anyone new to the Chicago theatre scene! Ensure that your resume is accurate and up to date as you put your best foot forward!
