Tea has always loved art. During her studies, when she started working as a museum guide, she realized how many people are intimidated by art and found museums to be scary places where art is reserved only for the few who understand it. So, she dedicated her work to making art more understandable, enjoyable and less scary. After receiving her MA degree in Art History, she moved from her home town, Zagreb (Croatia), to Amsterdam. And found that to be a great opportunity to start her own business. After working in museums and getting some experience in the travel industry, she wanted to combine art and travel in her work. She started organizing private museum tours at Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. To make art pieces come to life, she researched where famous painters, like Van Gogh, lived and worked. And how you can still follow their footsteps in many places in Europe. She created a mobile app Rembrandt in Amsterdam and wrote a lot about the places linked to Van Gogh in the Netherlands, Belgium and France. Who is Shiru Shir ? Shiru Shir ( Let’s Sing a Song ) is a choir from Paris of some 20 members, founded in 2017, which became an official association in 2021. The choir has diversified its repertoire over the years from its Jewish liturgical and folk roots, to jazz, world music, as well as baroque, renaissance and contemporary music. In addition to its regular concerts throughout the year, Shiru Shir also takes part in large-scale projects with orchestra (Dogora by Etienne Perruchon, 2023 and Choir Festivals, 2024). Our Project in 2025 : Annelies, a musical tribute to Anne Frank’s Diary In 2025, the Shiru Shir choir will commemorate the 80th anniversary of Anne Frank’s passing in 1945 by performing an outstanding work: ANNELIES, composed by James Whitbourn in 2005 and based on excerpts from Anne Frank’s Diary compiled by the librettist Melanie Challenger (in English). This solemn and powerful music will be performed by the choir, a soprano soloist and a chamber ensemble. It highlights the vivid storytelling and poignant emotion of Anne Frank’s testimony, elevating it to a universal story and a prayer for humanity. Amsterdam based composer and pianist Muriël Bostdorp plays the piano with the beauty of melancholy. Influenced by nature and everyday life, she takes you back to your inner senses. Without words she guides you to all kind of dreamy spaces. Cedric Vermue is a Dutch pianist and a producer of neo-classical music based in Amsterdam. In 2019 he released his debut album Left Upon Us, mixing piano with electronics and ambiences. Perpetua is his newest project, released 11th of March 2023 on Mylja Records. This conceptual album brings the listener into a new world of sound, using recomposed Gregorian melodies and religious and choral elements. Nowadays he works on various projects from his studio in Amsterdam. Swedish musicians Sofia Nystrand, known under the moniker Vargkvint, and Jakob Lindhagen, have for the past years constantly been blurring the definition of modern classical/ambient/ experimental music, as well as the definitions of solo/duo/collaborative work. Having caught the attention of renowned composer Nils Frahm, they have recorded two albums in his Funkhaus studio and released on his label LEITER, including the upcoming Jorden vi ärvde . Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT)️ is a visionary approach to dance and movement training, developed by Joan Skinner (1924-2021); a detailed, refined and expansive technique. It is designed to find greater ease in our dancing through dynamic alignment with our environment and a refined tuning with our bodies and imagination. The teaching strongly draws on guided imagery and hands-on partner studies, supporting an experiential understanding of both the technical and the creative process in movement. There is an ongoing fine tuning in allowing ourselves to consciously fall into unknown creative territories. We allow ourselves to be intimately in touch with our inner body as well as align with something greater than ourselves through embodied listening. As we move with imagery that guides us through different layers of the whole self, the imagery can begin to move us. The poetic imagery can atune to physiological layers and includes the mystery of intangible layers present. Embodied listening, inner spaces, presence, dynamic stillness, softening and allowing are some of the essential areas of practice in Skinner Releasing, that support action into newness. Softening supports the releasing of strength through efficiency and responsiveness. Allowing encourages listening, to one’s own dancing first. This way we can become more available. In the technical work and in creating dances, directing and allowing are side by side, as are stillness and action, receptivity and fierceness. Joan Skinner says: “Letting go is a discipline”.
