Join me in my spacious art studio to have some fun learning how to design, cut out and print a set of greetings cards using lino printing - perfect for christmas! You will be invited to draw an animal of your choice from a picture, then inspired to complete the design with patterns and motifs. If you have another idea for a design that's fine too, I'll guide you to adapt it into a lino cut. Then you will create a set of greetings cards using coloured card and inks of your choice. You'll be provided with everything you need to make your own set of A6 sized cards to give to people for Christmas or other occasions. You will leave with the knowledge of how to create a lino print, your printed cards and your lino cut which you can re use. Essential Info: Pre-booking is essential and spaces are very limited, book early to avoid disappointment. There will be teas, coffee and biscuits available. Feel free to bring your own snacks. Suitable for any experience level, you'll be taught everything you need to know. Hundreds of graphic novels and zines will be provided for you to read, mostly of the literary kind in all kinds of genres: fiction, non-fiction, memoir, science fiction, horror, graphic medicine, manga etc. If you thought comics are just about superheroes, this is a great opportunity to see a whole range of amazing comics that you didn't know existed. Recommendations can be provided by Gabi, the GNRR host, or you can browse freely to sample the many different topics and graphic styles. It's a casual event: all participants read a different book and there is no group discussion as such.
