L’École du soir Cinéma #4, organized by Cooper Gallery in Dundee, presents an exclusive screening of INFINITY minus Infinity by The Otolith Group. This thought-provoking 56-minute 51-second 4K video explores various inspirations, including the works of Jamaican poet Una Marson, Martinican philosopher Édouard Glissant, Brazilian philosopher Denise Ferreira da Silva, and British geographer Kathryn Yusoff. INFINITY minus Infinity delves into the covert policy of the UK Conservative government, known as the "hostile environment," which criminalizes Afro-Caribbean immigrants. It sheds light on the disarticulation of Afro-Caribbean settlement and the ongoing crimes of climate catastrophe. Commissioned by Sharjah Architecture Triennial SAT01, and co-produced with Z33 House for Contemporary Art, Design and Architecture, this screening is part of The Ignorant Art School Sit-in Curriculum #3.
