Join the Zeta Alpha chapter of Kappa Delta at Texas Tech for the fourth annual Pickleball Tournament in support of Prevent Child Abuse America and the Children's Advocacy Center. This tournament is the culmination of Shamrock Week 2024, a national Kappa Delta program dedicated to raising funds for child abuse prevention organizations. By participating in this event, you can make a positive impact on the lives of children both locally and nationwide. The tournament will take place at the Texas Tech Recreation Center on the outdoor pursuits pickleball courts. The venue is conveniently located at 3219 Main Street, Lubbock, TX 79409. Parking is available in front of the Texas Tech Kinesiology and Sport Management building or at the Recreation Center. Don't forget to bring your own pickleball paddles, although rentals are available on the bottom floor of the Recreation Center. The winning team from the community bracket will receive a cash prize, while the sorority and fraternity bracket winners will receive a donation to their respective philanthropies along with additional prizes. The Texas Tech College Rodeo, named the SW Region Rodeo of The Year for 2021, 2022, and 2023, is a highly anticipated event. Taking place at Cook's Garage in Lubbock, Texas, this is the 74th Annual Intercollegiate Rodeo. From October 26th to October 28th, attendees can experience thrilling rodeo action. The schedule includes performances on Thursday at 7:30pm, with slack events on Friday and Saturday starting at 8:30am. The evening performance on Friday and Saturday begins at 6:30pm. On October 28th, an exceptional Kids Rodeo will take place at 3pm. Notably, the Texas Tech College Rodeo was the first of its kind to be broadcast on the Cowboy Channel, and they are set to return this year. All proceeds go towards supporting the Texas Tech Rodeo team. Attendees can purchase tickets for $25, which also includes access to the after-party each night. Children aged 12 and under can enter for free. The rodeo features 15 college teams competing in 10 different rodeo events.
