In 2007, Jeju Island was listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site for the first time in Korea, and since 2020, the festival has been held every year to promote this value.
The World Heritage Festival is a project promoted by the National Heritage Administration, the National Heritage Promotion Agency, to promote the value and significance of the world heritage sites listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the country to the public at home and abroad.
The theme of this year's Jeju World Heritage Festival is "The Joy of Discovery".
The festival aims to promote the special charm of Jeju Island as a World Heritage Site at home and abroad by exploring and exploring the wonders presented by nature, discovering and encountering the gem-like stories and people therein, expanding the generations of participation, and promoting the brand value of Jeju Island by conveying the outstanding value and academic and cultural significance of the World Natural Heritage.
