You're invited to an unforgettable evening at The Cable Wharf. Indulge in a delicious meal uniquely paired with Goslings Rums. Immerse yourself in the rich flavours of Bermuda while enjoying the stunning waterfront views. Don't miss this unique opportunity to savour the finest rum and cuisine in a picturesque setting. 6 - 7 PM : Welcome cocktails 7 PM: Goslings Rum dinner with paired cocktails *Must be 19+ to attend About Andrew Holmes, Brand Director, Goslings Export Bermuda Ltd At a young age Andrew knew he would be involved somehow in the hospitality industry. Dreaming of one day owning his own bar, Andrew was eager to help his parents by serving drinks for their guests during dinner parties at his family home in Pembroke Bermuda. This passion developed while studying at Bishops University, Quebec Canada where Andrew became well known for his Bermuda Rum Swizzle. These Swizzle parties would happen usually once a semester and Andrew would concoct his libation in a 5 gallon sports drink container using Goslings Rum that he would carry all the way from Bermuda every chance he got to go home. A year before his graduation Andrew met E. Malcolm Gosling and they began talking about the export potential of Goslings Rum to Canada. Malcolm quickly recognized Andrew’s passion for Rum and Bermuda. June 2002 Andrew graduated with a Bachelor Degree in International Business with a minor in Economics. In August he started work with Gosling’s Limited in Bermuda at the ripe age of 22. Early 2003 Andrew was relocated to Canada to develop Goslings Black Seal Rum in a brand new market. He lived in Toronto and Halifax; travelling all over Canada before returning to Bermuda in 2005 where he now resides. In March 2021 Andrew was asked to join the Board of Directors for Goslings Export. Andrew is the only non Gosling family member who holds a seat. In over two decades of working for the Gosling family, Andrew has been involved with all aspects of the business; from the production of the Rum, supply chain, developing marketing strategies, event management, brand advocacy and public relations. Andrew works closely with the Bermuda sales team driving Goslings Rum Island wide, consulting with local establishments on beverage programs, as well as creating signature cocktails and training staff. Goslings Rum is an essential ingredient for the majority of occasions on the island. Cultural holidays, performing arts, sporting and social events keep Andrew and the team in Bermuda busy. The export market for Goslings Rum has grown significantly in recent years and so has the team. Andrew strategizes with the global team and is a valuable resource to the international distribution partners; attending trade shows and events donning the traditional Bermuda shorts, knee socks and blazer. In a recent interview with The Washington Post , Hoss Zaouali shared his insights on how technology is transforming education. While he and the Voilà Learning team are recognized as Canadian leaders in EdTech, he concluded the interview with a powerful reminder: “Nothing will beat the handshake.” That’s why Hoss Zaouali and his team at Voilà Learning are hitting the road to meet Ministries of Education, teachers, parents, and school boards across Canada—in person. This series of events are proudly funded by the Canadian government in an effort to give school boards and administrators the tools & knowledge to thrive and feel confident in an AI-driven world. While we build ultra-collaborative virtual classrooms for French as a Second Language (W FSL) learning, we believe that real-life exchanges and face-to-face collaboration are essential for lasting impact. This is especially important now that U.S.-imposed tariffs are reinforcing the need to rely on Canadian-made technological tools. We will be in Halifax, Nova Scotia on August 26th to discuss the following question: How can we help teachers, students, and parents better prepare for the AI revolution? Thanks to a major grant, we’re launching a national initiative to help teachers adapt to technological change. Our hands-on workshops will cover: The impact of AI on education How teachers can use AI effectively Strategies to save time and boost productivity By engaging directly with communities, we ensure that teachers receive personalized support and practical tools to thrive in this new era of learning. Core Memory: Gym class, 1999 , You + Friends = first time under a multi coloured parachute. Pure joy, fun. For possibly the last time ever come jump again, togerther with all your friends - This may be the last time you can party under that parachute of your memoreis! Halifax-born musician, singer-songwriter and producer Rich Aucoin launched his solo career in 2007 with his Personal Publication EP. He quickly made a name for himself by merging his ambitious and exploratory brand of Pop music with impressive feats of endurance, notably a coast-to-coast bike tour and a series of running marathons, with each of these feats supporting a different charity. Thus, even before the release of his first full album We're All Dying to Live in 2011 (featuring over 500 guests!), Aucoin had grown his reputation as a highly-captivating artist. The following albums, such as 2014’s Ephemeral and 2019’s Release only cemented his stature as a fully-fledged Indie-pop auteur. In 2020, he continued to defy expectations by releasing United States , a psychedelic travel diary. This effort was followed by Synthetic : Season 1 in 2022, the first volume of a four-part tentacular opus composed with the rare and historic synth collection of Calgary’s National Music Centre, where he held residency. Aucoin followed with Synthetic - A Synth Odyssey : Season 2 in 2023, on which he again played a range of instruments, including 40 synths from the Alberta-based collection. Synth Season 3 debuted in October 2024. Can machines sing? With his Synthetic album cycle, Rich Aucoin answers that question with a resounding, exuberant "yes." The four-part project sweeps listeners through a gallery tour of synthesis history, giving voice to a chorus of specimens from the past century of electronic sound. On Season 3, Aucoin deepens his dive into the variegated genealogy of dance music, charting a joyful course through the many flavors of rave euphoria. From March 2020 through February 2024, Aucoin recorded Synthetic: Season 3 during a series of visits to the National Music Centre in Calgary and the Vintage Synthesizer Museum in Los Angeles. Among these collections, he found historic synthesizers ranging from the ubiquitous to the esoteric, each with its own voice just waiting to be jolted to life. During these sessions, Aucoin took the opportunity to air out some of synth history's most iconic instruments. "Moog" delights with roiling, retrofuturistic arpeggios drawn from a Minimoog: the 1970 portable synthesizer beloved by Kraftwerk, Gary Numan, and Parliament-Funkadelic. With "ElectroComp," Aucoin brings the 1969 EML ElectroComp 200 squarely into the techno era, shaping whispery accents with its analog filters. Album closer "Optigan" adorns jittery breakbeats with wistful melodies from an organ-style keyboard released in 1971 by American toymaker Mattel. On "M1," Aucoin pulls classic deep house beats from the computerized brain of one of the best-selling synthesizers in history. The Korg M1 consolidated functions from a variety of machines into a streamlined digital workstation in 1988, bearing heavily on the crisp, icy sounds of the late '80s and early '90s. Throughout Season 3, you'll also hear the songs of much rarer birds. "Delta Music Research" sees Aucoin working an obscure modular system built in Calgary in the 1980s to churn out rollicking acid house loops. For "Sonica," he siphons trance bliss from the button-inlaid fretboard of the 1979 Frank Eventoff synth of the same name: a wooden, sitar-shaped device that was released in a run of 650 units. On "Synthi," Aucoin commandeers an EMS Synthi 100 -- a 1971 digital/analog hybrid synthesizer housed in a massive wooden cabinet and limited to just a few dozen builds -- for a deliciously squelchy tech-house romp. From the mass-produced to the bespoke, each synthesizer on Synthetic: Season 3 sends a transmission from its makers' own historical vision of the future. The instruments' tactile interfaces -- from fields of patch jacks to 50-year-old optical discs to rows and rows of voltage dials -- all lend embodied dimension to the practice of shaping sound from raw electricity. Each of them carries a story about what might have tumbled into being from the moment of their creation. In awakening these machines, Aucoin cross-pollinates a choir of futures into an ecstatic, reverential present. - Sasha Geffen ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ To attend, patrons must adhere to all government health and safety directions in place at the time of the show, as well as any additional venue protocols.
