Hope Academy’s First Event of the Year – Parkwood Springs, Sheffield! We’re kicking off the year with an exciting session at Parkwood Springs, Sheffield, and this one’s extra special—it’ll be filmed for our next Academy video! Riders will be split into three groups:
🚴 New Pedallers & Fundamentals – Perfect for those building confidence and skills.
🚴 Advanced Fundamentals – Taking core techniques to the next level.
🚴 Drops & Jumps – For those ready to push their limits! We’ll hit the trails for some epic riding and finish the day with a dual slalom race! Parents are welcome to bring their bikes if they’d like to accompany their child on the trails. Join us for a fun-filled day of progression, adventure, and friendly competition! Sign in from 12.30 ready to roll for 13.00. sessions will be split into 2 x 45 mins with a short break for a drink and snack followed by a Dual Slalom relay for all groups

Wild Beings is a series of wellbeing activities for adults, providing a safe and supportive space to reconnect with nature in a meaningful way. All sessions include mindfulness and a nature inspired craft activity During this morning in the woods, you will have the opportunity to learn the basics of wood carving and try your hand at making a simple walking stick for your nature walks. Our experienced facilitators will guide you through the process helping you to create a piece of art that is both unique and personal. The morning will include: Welcome and hot drinks using the Kelly kettlesGuided mindfulness exerciseActivity: carve your very own walking stickA reflective exercise to round off the sessionThere will also be time to sit and chat, a hammock to relax in and an opportunity to learn how to use the Kelly kettles. The session will be led by experienced ‘wellbeing in nature’ practitioners from Wiltshire Wildlife Trust’s Wellbeing Team, and will include all tools and materials needed as well as hot drinks and biscuits. Wild Beings is a perfect way to escape the stresses of daily life and reconnect with nature in a meaningful way. Whether you are an experienced artist or a complete beginner, this experience is suitable for adults of all ages and abilities. The Gleaves are a husband and wife, alternative country / folk duo. They infuse their music with rich melodies, poignant lyrics, and a warm, nostalgic vibe that resonates deeply with audiences. Their individual songwriting and playing styles create a fusion of the roots genres, resulting in a unique blend delivered with a performance bursting with the connection and love they share for each other. The Gleaves will take you back with their close harmony singing, intricate fingerpicking and mesmerising lead playing, echoing the spirit of the 60s and 70’s in a refreshing way. Their debut album ‘Like an Echo’ takes you on a journey through the songbooks of Josh and Chloe. Recorded in a converted milking parlour in Porkellis in Cornwall, it captures the magic that happens when they perform live together, letting their rawness and authenticity shine. Following the release of their album, they’ll be hitting the road once again, playing extra special intimate shows, performing songs from the album and more.

Varsity is Back! Join us on Monday 28th April at Headingley campus from 5pm for our Futsal, Korfball and Netball opener. Watch Leeds Beckett 1st team vs University of Leeds 1st team in all sports battle it out in Arena 1 and see which University will claim bragging rights for the next year. As well as some thrilling matches there will be music, a bar, and entertainment. Tickets will be £5+VAT* and we have a limited amount. You will not be able the enter the venue without a ticket and if you leave the venue midway through there is no readmission. Tickets are available via the ticket button on this page. You can buy tickets on the door but they will be priced at £8. If you have any queries please contact harry.robinson@leedsbeckett.ac.uk The Netball match starts at 8pm and last entry is 7:45pm so that you don't miss out on the players entering the court. Our evening starts at 5pm with our Futsal game followed by our Korfball Varsity match which will start around 6:15pm.
