Sophisticated Simplicity Our events offer a fresh alternative to speed dating and matchmaking. We don't find anything romantic about whistles, name-tags or over-the-top party trimmings typically found at singles events so we have done away with them. Creating an atmosphere that is at once casual and comfortable. It's what we call cheeky-chic! Meet a partner to attend concerts, music festivals, bar crawls or fitness classes. Someone who shares your passions and interests - from sports to yoga - all in a setting just your speed. - Upon registration, you'll be sent an email inviting you to login to your mobile MyCheekyDate ‘Smart-Card’. As the event begins, login to your scorecard and let the flirting begin. Once the clock strikes midnight - return to our platform to see your matches. It's where Cheeky meets convenience! You can also access your profile via mobile, tablet or PC. Our platform isn't an app so it requires absolutely no downloading and can be accessed directly from our website, anytime. Paper scorecards are just so 2010! The night has arrived! Go to the venue at the published start time for the event. There is no official start time to the speed dating portion of the evening - we like to wait for all daters to arrive, to have a moment to settle in with a refreshment and mingle should they wish. He co- authored Lohn's memoir, Blue Skies, Troubled Waters, edited the first Indonesian language version, and has a published chapter in Transcending: Trans Buddhist Voices (North Atlantic Books) and Dancing With The Dharma: Movement and Dance in Western Buddhism. A Buddhist teacher ordained by Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Thích Nhất Hạnh, Kimmel incorporates decades of engagement with deep songs and light-hearted banter. Martha Walandouw Lohn was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to a naturalized American Polish Mama who escaped the Russian occupation of Poland in the 1920s and an undocumented Minahasan-Indonesian Papa who disembarked a Dutch military ship in New York and never reboarded—Lohn is not just an author; she's a living testament to resilience and the human spirit. As a survivor of World War II's Japanese occupation of Indonesia, formerly known as the Dutch East Indies, and as a child who saw her father getting deported from the United States, Lohn's experiences have become a wellspring of inspiration for her writing. Her evocative storytelling captures the nuances of history, weaving together the threads of personal experience with the grand tapestry of global events. In celebration of Star Wars Day, Portland’s most delightfully chaotic cardio crew is taking over Lloyd Center Mall with a themed walk that promises costumes, camaraderie, and plenty of rebellious strutting. The Food Court 5000 presents “Mall Wars: The Empire Struts Back,” a May the Fourthcelebration with a mall-walking twist. The event takes place on Sunday, May 4 at 11:00 AM and is free, all ages, and open to anyone ready to embrace their inner Jedi, Sith, droid, or space-glam icon. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite Star Wars characters or come in their own interpretation of “galactic fitness fashion.” Think Leia buns, capes, metallics, and the bold confidence of someone who owns a lightsaber and is not afraid to use it. We'll gather at 11:00 AM in the Lloyd Center Food Court for a warmup, group photo, and a 90-minute power walk through the mall. An optional post-walk Orange Julius celebration may occur, depending on hydration levels and costume stability. Highlights Include: Leia-inspired hairstyles and lightsaber flairSynchronized mall-walking with surprise choreographyEscalator drama and public cardio chaosCostumes encouraged, judgment not allowedAbout the Food Court 5000: Founded in Portland, Oregon, the Food Court 5000 is a weekly mall-walking group focused on fitness, flair, and reclaiming public space with style. What began as one person in a tracksuit has grown into a movement of themed walks, spontaneous jazzercise breaks, costume chaos, and pure joy. The group meets every Sunday at Lloyd Center Mall. Arts Fine Art
Join us for Ex Fundamentis: The Evolution of Façade Masonry in Pompeii, a lecture by M. Taylor Lauritsen, PhD, Adjunct Assistant Professor in Art History at Portland State University. This talk will explore the development of residential and commercial façade design in Pompeii from the late 3rd century BC to the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Over this period, standardized architectural techniques employed in the Samnite era were replaced by a range of materials and construction methods, a process influenced both by practical considerations and evolving aesthetic tastes. This local transition reflects broader shifts in Roman architectural practice and urban development during the Late Republic and early Imperial period. This talk is funded through the generosity of the Mary Ausplund Tooze Endowed Visiting Professor of Islamic + Ancient Art Fund and the PSU Art History program. FREE and open to the public Information Source: Portland State University Art History | eventbrite

Welcome to " Navigating Complex Change; Harnessing Human Connection in Turbulent Times " ! As coaches, we know that transformation happens through connection. In a world that’s shifting faster than ever, our ability to foster meaningful relationships is more essential than any strategy or tool. In this one day session, we’ll explore how human connection remains the anchor in times of uncertainty—helping us navigate change, support our clients, and grow as professionals. We’re bringing this conversation to life with thought-provoking presentations, hands-on discussions, and an engaging speaker lineup - download the full agenda here. Morning Keynote Cathy Bernatt, Executive Coach, MCC, IAC Professional Facilitator, O.D. Consultant Transforming Triggers: How Irritation Became the Doorway to Discovery What if a client’s behavior triggers something within us—not because of them, but because of our own unresolved issues? This interactive session invites coaches to explore that question through a powerful personal story, guided inner work, and community dialogue. By turning triggers into opportunities for self-awareness and growth, coaches can build deeper connections, enhance emotional intelligence, and improve client outcomes. Morning Breakout Sessions Track 1: Grow Self with Elia Paz, Set Life-serving Boundaries that Call Us Into Collaboration and Community Track 2: Grow Tools with Denise Gaskin, AIC (AI in coaching) - Will it Replace the Human Connection in Coaching? Track 3: Grow Impact with Dr. Richard Osibanjo, T he Power of Influence: Building Meaningful Connections in a Polarized World Afternoon Breakout Sessions Track 1: Grow Self with Cai Delumpa and Monique Breault, Coaching from the Inside Out Track 2: Grow Tools with Tiffany Grimes, Why Metacognition Matters Track 3: Grow Impact with Nir Megnazi, Smart But Stuck: How Avoiding Emotions Limits Leaders Afternoon Keynote Jennie Antolak, MCC Connected Individuality: The Urgent Case for Reimagining Autonomy and Community In a world that craves connection, we’ve paradoxically drifted further apart—swapping collaboration for convenience, teamwork for transaction, and human interaction for digital exchanges. The result? Record-high burnout, disengagement, and isolation. This presentation challenges the outdated belief that autonomy and community are opposing forces. Instead, "Connected Individuality" provides a new model—one that empowers people to own their unique strengths while co-creating, contributing, and thriving within the collective.
