In de jaren 90 speelde Helmert Woudenberg drie solo's over het leven van de Tibetaanse monnik Milarepa. Deze monnik leefde in de 11e eeuw, schreef meer dan 3000 verzen en wordt nog altijd vereerd. De vernederingen uit zijn jeugd drijven hem tot wraak. Een verschrikkelijke wraak met onschuldige slachtoffers. Maar de wraak brengt geen verlichting; integendeel. Maar als wraak het antwoord niet is, wat dan wel? Milarepa gaat op zoek om de kwade krachten die in hem wonen, te keren. Op zoek naar verlossing en verlichting. Zijn zoektocht van wraak naar verlichting vormde de basis voor de solo's van Helmert. Helmert Woudenberg stelde verhalenverteller Eric Borrias voor om met de teksten van die solo's aan de gang te gaan. Borrias bewerkte de teksten tot éen voorstelling, waarin we MIlarepa volgen van zijn jeugd tot en met zijn sterven en reïncarnatie. Helmert Woudenberg heeft deze voorstelling helaas niet meer kunnen zien; hij overleed onverwacht op 23 november 2023. Uitgerekend de verjaardag van Borrias.
