About this class: Students will continue their growth from Fundamentals of Improv Level 2 to begin developing their own performance style and begin learning other forms beyond the Montage. By exploring a wide variety of improv skills, including game, character, walk-ons, tag-outs, openings, and callbacks, students will build a personal toolbox for their improv journey. Each class session will run from 7:00pm-9:00pm ET, with optional time available after class to discuss and debrief. Tashika has headlined festivals across the US and coordinated the first improv festival dedicated to Black improvisers in the DMV. Tashika is also a sought after coach, teacher, and workshop facilitator. Jonathan Monroe (he/him) has been a teacher in the Maryland school systems for over 10 years. He has been an improviser in the Baltimore area for 8 years. Learning the craft from the Baltimore Improv Group, he has been a part of indie troupes; Throwing Lobsters, Hostel, and Important Screws. Jonathan has been directing a monthly school aged driven family friendly show, The Playground, once a month at Highwire Improv. He enjoys long form and musical improv as well as mentoring the next generation of improvisers. Our immensely popular Dinner Detective shows are set in the present day. Unlike other murder mystery dinner shows, here you will find no cheesy costumes, no recited campy dialogue and no hokey song and dance. Our performers are dressed just like everyone else, leaving all of the guests to suspect who is a part of the show and who is not. In many instances, guests are seated with the performers and don't even realize it until they die...the performers, that is! Our Detectives proceed to interrogate everyone and find clues as the mystery unfolds. At the end of the night, prizes are awarded to the Top Sleuth who solves the crime. The Dinner Detective performs at The DoubleTree by Hilton Saint Paul East. We offer an amazing murder mystery show paired with a fantastic plated dinner. Coffee and tea are included upon request, and there is a cash-only cash bar available as well. OUR MENU: Appetizer: Fried Cheese Ravioli Salad: Mixed Greens, Cherry Tomatoes, Sliced Red Onion, Cucumbers, Shaved Carrots And A Balsamic Dressing Choice Of Entree:- Grilled Chicken With A Lemon Herb Sauce w/ Potato Wedges, Green Beans- Tilapia With A Creamy Tomato Sauce w/ Potato Wedges, Green Beans- Stuffed Peppers With Red Sauce Dessert: Chocolate Cake With Caramel Drizzle Please note, loud simulated noises, and short lighting blackouts are used as part of the performance. Our show does not have a theme or time period, and our performers are not in costume. You can choose whether or not to participate in the show! Our guests are encouraged but not required to perform or participate. However, since our actors are hidden in the audience, other audience members may interact with and interrogate you on their own. The show takes place all around you! Our actors are seated all around the room, possibly at your table. We also ensure each table gets to see every clue and witness every important scene, so all guests have an equal chance to solve the mystery! The Dinner Detective is a show geared toward adults. We have a strict age limit of 15 years old, due to mild adult content, loud noises, and swearing. Business casual or dressy casual wear is required for our events, unless otherwise specified in the event description! No logo/printed T-shirts, shorts, ballcaps, flip-flops, or torn clothes are permissible. Jeans are acceptable unless otherwise specified in the event description. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Free self parking is available at the hotel. What can I bring into the event?
