Poet’s Palace is thrilled to be expanding our community in Birmingham, bringing together new poetic talent and inviting wonderful audiences to enjoy an unforgettable night of spoken word 🎤✨ The event will be accompanied by live music and hosted by the esteemed local poet and Prince of the Palace, Vig Venkataramaiah! There will be 8 open mic slots on the night—sign up in advance! But don’t worry if you don’t secure a spot; we’ll also have wild card picks on the night. For open mic inquiries, DM Vig or email us directly 🎤 The audience will vote for their favourite open mic performer, and the winner will be invited to feature at the next Birmingham event 🔥 Doors open at 6.30pm

Tamika Steadman is a poet, actress, host, MSc Student, and CEO of I.Put.The.T.In.Poetry. Tamika explores themes such as race, feminism, culture, and mental health through her poetry, using it as a tool for processing emotions and inspiring others. In 2023, she released her debut EP I’ll Be Alright, available on all streaming platforms, including Apple Music & Spotify. Don’t miss her powerful performance that promises to move and inspire. Frank Hammond
Also known by his stage name Spectrum, Frank Hammond is a passionate, political, and poetic performer with a message. Originally from London, Frank is studying for an English BA in the Midlands. He challenges the complexity of the world through his work, offering raw and insightful perspectives on his experiences as someone on the neurodivergent spectrum. Expect a performance filled with cadence, character, and energy, as he uses spoken word to prove the power of self-expression. MUSIC
Ollie Newbury – Keys
A Stafford-born musician who recently graduated with a music degree in Birmingham, Ollie is part of the indie soft rock band Eighty Eight Miles and has worked in various genres, from jazz and contemporary to R&B and classical. Tyriq Baker – Sax
Tyriq, a multi-instrumentalist from Birmingham, is a pianist in the up-and-coming Birmingham music collective @samplethekids. He also regularly performs at @theginvault, adding his saxophone magic to the local music scene. About us

We champion emerging talent by providing them with the stages and resources they need to succeed.
