Songlines for Greenwich BlackHistory 365 celebrations1st June Meeting at 2pm for short walk and songmaking workshop at 3pm-5pm – exact secret meeting point tbc. Through song, music, exploration and story-telling we come together to explore other histories that mirror post-colonial retellings of the past and future. Songlines for Greenwich uses alternative research and histories suggested by the monumental folly of Severndroog Castle, to create a new song/line. Join this improvised songwriting workshop and exploration of Oxleas Woods near the castle site. Come prepared with you wish with an instrument, some percussion or we will improvise and make something resonant from the woody environment. Expect to be entertained but also to participate in this magical songlines event celebrating diverse Black history and culture within Greenwich as we wonder in the woods. This event is part of BH365 celebrations 2024-2025.
