Discover the Black Writers' Workshop by Cass Dyce, now hosted at LOVING ROOM: diaspora books + salon. This empowering event welcomes Black writers from diverse backgrounds and experience levels to join in Volume II this fall. Taking place on the 3rd Wednesdays of October 18, November 15, and December 13, from 5:30-7:30pm, we gather to cultivate community, connection, and creative expression through the written word. With a focus on inspiration, creation, empowerment, and connection, the workshop provides a supportive environment for Black creatives, including authors, poets, musicians, and more. Our gracious thanks go to Kristina for providing the beautiful space for us to gather.
Hosting the event is Cassidy A. Dyce, a captivating storyteller based in Seattle, Washington. Having served as a writer’s assistant to renowned poet and educator, Kwame Alexander, Cassidy brings a wealth of experience to the workshop. Additionally, she has worked with Seattle Arts and Writer-In-The-Schools (WITS) and has a passion for rekindling the love for creative writing and literature in public schools.
LOVING ROOM: diaspora books + salon is where the workshop finds its home. Located at 1400 20th Avenue in Seattle, this Central District venue offers an ADA accessible space with gender-neutral restrooms. Street parking is available, although it may require some time and patience to find a spot. Health and safety measures are in place, with facemasks available for those who prefer to use them.
