Abhishek Upmanyu is a stand-up comedian, writer and a haiku enthusiast. He looks and sounds like a regular Delhi boy, except that he is harmless. Abhishek does kill though, mostly on stage, and has done so at the biggest of stages on the stand-up circuit. Upmanyu covers seemingly everyday topics with insightful and hilarious effects. With his Shatabdi-fast delivery & writing prowess, rap is an alternate career option for Abhishek but he refuses on principal. The Halifax County Youth Summer Day Camp will be hosting 7 weekly camps this summer beginning June 9th and ending August 1st, 2025. Each week will spotlight a different theme and even some field trips that are sure to entice any 6 - 14 yr old! The camps include Hero Camp, Sports Camp, Art Camp, Safari Camp (a trip to the Asheboro Zoo is this week, so be sure to check out the additional Safari Camp Asheboro Zoo registration should you wish for your child to attend the trip), All Around the World Camp, Chef Camp, and Aquatic Camp. There will not be no camp the week of July 4th, 2025 . Transportation will be provided from various areas each week, so look for that information if your child may need transportation. Our Ultra Run is back for the second year and this year we have changed the route and incresed to 52 miles! We will start the run at 6am on Friday 13th June at 6am and you will finish at the Old Brodlians Clubhouse on the Friday. We wil have a medic who will follow you for the whole duration, providing water, food, and supplies, so you will be well looked after! This is not a race, you will run as a team. Registration is £25 and you will receive a vest, medal, certificate and ticket entry into Brodstock so you can enjoy the festival. We're delighted to welcome back award winning photographer Tim Simpson for our Baby Photobooth sessions! These are the perfect opportunity to bring your little one to explore the library and have your little ones portrait taken. The price of a ticket includes one printed image from the photoshoot and the opportunity to buy additional images and prints directly from Tim.
