There is a word I think about often: sonder. Sonder describes the realisation that everyone we meet, everyone we cross paths with, is living a life as complex and intricate as our own. How do we experience connection to ourselves, each other, time and the world around us? What are some of the beautiful moments of connection we've experienced? What kind of connections do we want to create and what is the power of connection and empathy in today's world? Join me, adjei, and friends to explore through this immersive show - an ode to the meaningful moments of connection, empathy and compassion in our lives. Meet new people and connect through interactive art, words, performances, inspiring stories. This is a free show but booking tickets in advance is necessary as there are limited spaces available. Booking early is recommended. You can also support my work further by paying for me to write you a personalised handwritten poem on card with any theme of your choosing. It could be a poem about going through changes, or comforting words of hope. Anything that you would really appreciate a poem on right now. All support helps me to continue my creative journey. WILL FRANKEN “Imagine a surreal-estate agent guiding you through some Escher-like architectural marvel, where each room is its own deeply funny, satirical dream, every passageway a verbal wormhole, and in the corner a shaggy high priest of nothing's-sacredness is fiddling with a bunch of knobs on what looks like an espresso maker. Suddenly you wake up and remember that the lanky comedic heavy-lifter who put the abs on absurdity with last year's Good Luck with It returns to the Marsh for a one-off.... The moral? Existence may be fleeting, but Franken is not to be missed.”— San Francisco Bay Guardian VINNY SHIU Vinny Shiu, the London-based stand-up comedian with a twist. Through comedy songs, stories, and jokes, Vinny sheds light on his unique upbringing in the West within an Asian family. A finalist in the Comedy Virgins INGTE Summer Competition 2022, semi-finalist in the Musical Comedy Awards 2023, and a finalist in The Comedy Store’s King Gong Show, Vinny’s talent shines on various stages. His act combines cultural insights with humor, offering a delightful blend that resonates with audiences. Experience the laughter as Vinny takes you on a comedic journey, navigating the complexities of cultural fusion with wit and charm.
