The Shanghai International Film Festival was founded in 1993. In 1994, it was certified by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations and became China's first and so far only non-specialized competitive international film festival (i.e., International Class A Film Festival). The 27th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) will be held in Shanghai from June 13 to 22, 2025, under the guidance of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China and co-hosted by China Media Group and Shanghai Municipal People's Government. This year's film festival coincides with the 130th anniversary of the birth of world cinema and the 120th anniversary of the birth of Chinese cinema. With the theme of "The Splendor of the Times, Dreams Start a New Journey", it reviews the glorious history of Chinese cinema and looks forward to its future development.

"On Top of the Pyramid: The Civilization of Ancient Egypt" is the fourth exhibition in the Shanghai Museum's "Dialogue with the World" cultural relics and art exhibition series. It will be grandly opened at the People's Square Pavilion on July 18, 2024 and open to the public on July 19.
