When ice and snow come, snowflakes fall, and Harbin, the brightest pearl on the crown of ice and snow, welcomes the season of ice and snow. On the banks of the Songhua River, the annual Ice Harvesting Festival will once again kick off Harbin's winter tourism. On December 7, at the beach tribe on the west side of the Songhua River highway bridge, the fifth Harbin Ice Harvesting Festival with the theme of "Harvesting the First Ice and Celebrating the Asian Winter" will be held, delivering the purest ice for the construction of Harbin Ice and Snow World and contributing "ice" power to the construction of this dreamy ice and snow wonderland. This year's Ice Harvesting Festival will integrate more ice and snow culture, humanistic customs, and people's interactive elements on the basis of the traditional ice harvesting model, realize the inheritance and innovation of ice and snow culture, and present an ice harvesting ceremony with regional characteristics. The entire Ice Harvesting Festival consists of wind-welcoming flags, sky-shaking drums, blessing words, expedition wine, first ice harvesting, and tying good luck. After the ceremony, there will be a mass party, lucky first day ice, big pot cooking of frozen dumplings, river water stewing of river fish, ice and snow fun, ice and snow market and other activities, which will transform the ice and snow charm in the extreme cold into a steaming northern scenery.

The Yabuli Ski Festival was first held in 1998. It has developed from an initial single event into a three-dimensional cultural and tourism festival that deeply integrates ice and snow culture with sports competition. On December 12, the 22nd Yabuli Ski Festival and the 50th anniversary celebration of Yabuli Ski Resort with the theme of "Meet in Yabuli, Pursue the Dream of the Asian Winter Games" kicked off at the New Yabuli Ski Resort. The "Penguin of Taoxue" from Harbin Polar Park and the star giant panda "Scarlett" from Yabuli Panda House made their debut together.

On December 11, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference. Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, announced at the meeting that the Cross-Strait Youth Ice and Snow Festival will be held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province and related cities from December 18 to 24. The theme of the Ice and Snow Festival is "Passion for Ice and Snow, Hand in Hand". On December 19, the opening ceremony, short video show and award ceremony of cross-strait youth will be held. During the period, a cross-strait youth exchange symposium, the 9th Asian Winter Games venue tour, ice and snow experience and visit exchanges and many other activities will be held. At present, Taiwan compatriots have signed up enthusiastically and are very enthusiastic to participate. It is expected that about 1,000 Taiwan compatriots, mainly Taiwan youth, will participate in the Ice and Snow Festival.
