FAQs
Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Your child must be between the ages of 8-12 years due to legal requirements regarding supervision.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
We have plenty of free parking and disabled parking available at the front of the centre.
Should my child bring their phone?
Wild play days are a chance to get away from screens for a day and enjoy being together outside without distractions. We would advise children not to bring a phone, but if they do we ask them to keep it in their bag during the day.
My child has additional needs - can they still come?
We will do everything that we can to support your child to be able to take part in our events although this will depend on what support needs your child has. We ask that you fully fill in the booking form so that we know how best to support your child and we may get in touch with you to find out more information.
If you have any concerns, please contact our disability champion Chris Ensor (0113 2430815, c.ensor@tcv.org.uk) to discuss how we can best support your child.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. But please be ready to tell us who will be collecting your child at the end of the day.
When is the collection time?
4 pm.

The Neuroscience of Art | The Wardrobe
May 27, 2025 (UTC+1)
Leeds
Have you ever marveled at how a simple image on paper or canvas can stir your deepest emotions—making you smile, bringing tears to your eyes, or transporting you to another world? How a single image can awaken long-forgotten memories? And why humans have been creating art for tens of thousands of years, from the cave paintings of Chauvet and Altamira to the masterpieces of today?
In this talk, we’ll explore the fascinating world of the neuroscience of art—unpacking what happens in our brains when we engage with paintings, photographs, and sculptures. Together, we’ll delve into how visual processing works—examining colour, motion, and eye movements—as well as the powerful interplay between emotions, perception, and mental imagery. We’ll also dive into optical illusions, light adaptation, and even engage in a bit of doodling.
Join us as we unravel the mysteries of how art moves us, shapes us, and connects us—not just to the world around us, but to the deepest parts of ourselves.

An Evening with Hazel McBride in Leeds! | Waterstones Leeds
May 28, 2025 (UTC+1)
Leeds
We've delighted to have Hazel McBride, author of the highly-anticipated romantasy,
A Fate Forged in Fire
, joining us for an event on the 28th of May at 7pm!
How much is she willing to sacrifice to claim her throne?
A powerfully blessed blacksmith must use her wits and fire magic to overthrow the corrupt powers ruling the kingdom, while also fighting her desire for a certain dragon-riding adversary in this sizzling Celtic-inspired romantasy, perfect for fans of House of the Dragon and Fourth Wing.
Once a territory built on matriarchal rule, Tìr Teine has been without a female heir for centuries. Through a long line of corrupt kings, an oppressive anti-magic teaching has infected the land - leading to the tragic decline of the dragons.
Aemyra was born to lead, gifted with fire magic from the Goddess Brigid. For years she has hidden in the shadows, waiting for the king to die so she can bond to his dragon, claim her birthright and protect her people.
When her carefully laid plans are foiled, Aemyra is thrust into a deadly game of politics and plots. Her greatest enemy? Prince Fiorean - the dragon-riding, fire-wielding royal whose icy arrogance and raw power thwart her every step. But as chaos engulfs the court, Aemyra and Prince Fiorean are forced to forge an uneasy alliance to survive. And in the heat of battle, their mutual hatred ignites something neither of them can control.
Behind enemy lines and slowly falling for the only man that stands between her and the throne, Aemyra begins to uncover the true weight of the crown. Will she ignite the flames of change for her people - or will love burn her alive?
