Program at a glance:We are excited to start a 6 week basketball camp/ training session for Middle school girls. The objective of this camp is to improve one's basketball skills and establish sisterhood for the sake of Allah (SWT). We are very fortunate to have an active, dedicated and skilled sister conducting this Program!Coach Sabeeha Huq has been playing basketball for around 9 years now, including her middle school team, high school team, MIST, and more. She ran the MISA sisters’ basketball league for girls ages 16+, and has coached two years of MIST basketball for high school girls For: Middle school Girls When: Every Tuesday from 6:30-8 pm, Jan 14 - Feb 18th 2025 Where:MCWS gymnasium (40440 Palmer Rd. Canton, MI 48188) Cost: $125 per participant What to expect: - Every participant must wear shoes and attire suitable for basketball. -Every Participant must brink a basketball and waterbottle. - This will be a strictly girls only environment. -Every participant will recieve a custom jersey with thier name and number on it! - Mothers/female guardians will be added to whatsapp group for communication purposes. Julie's regularly heard on XM/Sirius Blue Collar Radio, as well as many syndicated stations including the John Boy & Billy Show, and the Bob & Sheri Show, (Charlotte, NC), & the Bob & Tom Show (Indianapolis, IN). A Southern girl with universal appeal, Julie's shows sell out from Florida to Oregon. Folks actually WANT to sit in the front row & have been known to return a second night, just so they can bring friends that haven't yet seen her. Phyllis Diller started comedy at 37 years old & so did I. She went on to have a fabulous career that lasted over 40 years. I hope to be just as fortunate. Program at a glance: We are excited to start a 6 week basketball camp/ training session for girls in grade 3-5. The objective of this camp is to improve one's basketball skills and establish sisterhood for the sake of Allah (SWT). This camp will consist of drills, games and tournaments. This camp is suitable for girls of all levels of basketball experience. Conducted by Coach AbdelKareem: As a passionate baller, coach and coordinator, AbdelKareem is thrilled to serve as a coordinator for the upcoming boys' Basketball Camp. AbdelKareem represented his country in the U18 Jordan National Team at the West Asia Cup in 2018. He played For Long Island Lutheran High School (Ranked Top 10 in the country). He played college ball for two years at St Joseph University in NY. He has led multiple basketball camps and has served as a coach. He recently moved to Canton and is currently a student at EMU. For: Girls in grades 3-5 When: Every Monday from 6:30- 8 pm (Jan 13th- Feb 17th) What to expect: - Every participant must wear shoes and attire suitable for basketball. Participants who fail to comply will NOT be allowed to play. -Every participant must have an adult fill out a waiver. This is a requirement to play. - Please bring a water bottle to practice. - We will provide basketballs - All participants are expected to be respectful to each other, the coaches and MCWS property. - We will take a break for Salah. -Parents are expected to drop off and pick up on time. -Parents will be added to a whatsapp group chat so we can keep them updated! Possibly the most beloved film from the unparalleled Japanese animation studio, Studio Ghibli. My Neighbor Totoro is a lighthearted and heartwarming story, suitable for all ages. The story begins when Satsuki and Mei move into their new home. They soon encounter strange and delightful creatures, including Totoro, a gentle forest spirit. Totoro takes them on a series of adventures abounding in benevolent magic in this deceptively simple, endearing tale. Whether you are seeing it for the first time, or the 10th, it's always worthwhile to spend some time with this movie. Don't miss this colorful, lush and touching story on the big screen. The proceeds for this film screening go toward enabling Fiddleheads to offer finaincial aid for our seasonal afterschool programming. Ticket prices consist of a $40 payment to the school in order to secure a reservation. Each reservations is for one parent and one child and includes a slice of pizza for each person. Parents are offered a chair, children will be accommodated with cushion/quilt/bean bag seating on the floor. Cushions, quilts and beanbags will be provided. Seating is limited and each screening will be capped at 30 people, ideally 15 parents and 15 children. Candy, popcorn, juice, seltzer, beer and wine will be available for purchase.
