Hey there, I’m Lily - an ‘elder emo’ musician with a love for putting a unique, softer spin on the heavier tracks that shaped a generation. Known for turning unexpected songs from bands like Slipknot, Blink-182 and Taking Back Sunday through to Sleep Token, Bad Omens and Korn, into ‘stealth rock’ acoustic renditions, I take these typically heavy songs and strip them back to focus on the melody and lyrics. Usually, you’ll find me at badass weddings singing for couples who grew up on the emo, alt, and metal scenes saying I Do to the songs they hold close without upsetting their elder relatives. After many requests from people saying they’d love to see me live, whether they’re already married, wedding-free by choice, or just craving an intimate concert experience, I decided to hit the road for my first UK tour. Antiques and Alibis: A Murder Mystery Night Saturday 15th February 2025 | Lyde Court Get ready for a thrilling evening of suspense and intrigue at Antiques and Alibis, an interactive murder mystery event at Lyde Court, brought to you by the wonderful Death On Demand! Become a Detective and put your skills to the test as you work together in teams to solve the case of the night. Enjoy a delicious three-course dinner, all while you gather clues and interact with the suspects throughout the evening. As you dine, you’ll have the chance to interrogate the suspects and piece together the mystery. Who did it? Was it the antiques dealer with a shady past? The mysterious collector with hidden motives? Or someone else with a secret alibi? Teams of 8 will work together, but don’t worry if you can’t make up the numbers—we’ll find you some teammates! Fancy dress is encouraged, so come dressed to impress in your best detective or vintage attire. Hetain Patel’s work explores ideas of identity and how we decide who we are. From stepping into his father’s shoes on an assembly line, to building a working Transformer robot out of his old Ford Fiesta, he examines and challenges the assumptions people make about others based on their race, gender, age, and class. For his latest project 'Come as you really Are', commissioned by Artangel, Patel asked thousands of people to share the fruits of their hobby. The result is an astonishing exhibition that challenges our perception of who gets to be called creative and where the impulse to create stems from. Patel’s belief that creativity is a broad and hopeful concept leads him to often use popular cultural icons and playful stratagems that involve a wide participating audience. Radical Care Artist Talk Series is a programme of free public talks presented by Hereford College of Arts and Meadow Arts. It explores the question of care in the context of contemporary art and how artists are transforming their creative practices to foster well-being and connectedness. Whether you’re a practising artist, student, graduate, or simply curious about the power of art to inspire change, all are welcome to join these free public events to gain fresh insights and engage with bold ideas shaping the future of contemporary art.
