On Sunday, December 29 at 11 a.m., in collaboration with the Reno Chamber Orchestra and its annual Nevada Chamber Music Festival, KNCJ will feature live performances by Festival performers: violist Molly Carr, cellist Dmitri Atapine, pianist Hyeyeon Park, and Quartet Integra. They will perform at the University of Nevada, Reno's Harlan O. & Barbara R. Hall Recital Hall. These Sunday morning concerts, presented quarterly, will feature a combination of music performed by some of the Truckee Meadows's finest musicians, and casual conversation both musical and personal. This second concert in the series highlights 2024 Nevada Chamber Music Festival performers. The program begins with Molly Carr, a Truckee Meadows native who is now violist of the Juilliard String Quartet and the Carr-Petrova Duo. Join local author Ashleyne Seitz on Saturday, December 7th from 2-4pm at Indy Reads for a reading and signing of her newest adventure book, Violindy: A Hilarious and Cozy Heist Novel. All ages are welcome! Proceeds from sales at Indy Reads support our English literacy programming for more than 400 adult learners each year. Violindy: A Hilarious and Cozy Heist Novel Carrie is just an introverted millennial violin player minding her own business when she's arrested for crimes she didn't commit. Thrown into the world of thievery and mistaken for a dangerous crime boss, Carrie has to adapt to her new surroundings while she manages her clinical anxiety. Her only allies are a young boy with the mouth of a sailor, a giant man who barely speaks, and a former coworker with unexpected hobbies.
