Featured Events in Swindon in May, 2025 (August Updated)

We’re currently running a series of free accessible cycling sessions, and we’d love to invite you to take part! The sessions are open to all and provide a relaxed and supportive way to enjoy the benefits of cycling — no prior experience is necessary and a range of adapted bikes will be available. These sessions are primarily for those living with MS but more are welcome. This session is at Moredon Sporting Hub with British Cycling. What are Adapted Cycling Sessions? These sessions are an opportunity to engage in physical exercise by using a bikes suited to specific functional abilities. A range of accessible cycles will be available such as a hand bikes, tricycles and wheelchair bikes. Who are the cycling sessions for? They are open to anyone who would benefit from using an accessible bike, however our primary aim is outreach to those affected by MS. These sessions are designed for children of Primary school age to help them learn how to ride a bike independently. They will be led by local cycling coach Jen Purcell. Bikes and helmets are available to borrow or you can bring your own. All riders must wear a helmet to take part in the sessions. Please ensure that children are wearing suitable shoes and clothing for cycling and the weather conditions. The sessions will continue in wet weather and will only be cancelled if a weather warning is in place (e.g storm), all participants will be contacted in advance if this is the case. Where possible please remove any stabilisers from your child's bike before attending. These sessions will take place on the main cycle track. Please book your child onto just one of the 1hr sessions per day. These sessions are possible thanks to grant funding from Sport England's Movement Fund.
