Inversion, Breathing, & Indian Clubs Workshop—Training in Uncommon Postures—with Dr. Ed Thomas & Phil Scarito Unparalleled Learning Experience 22 hours of education October 25-27, 2024 For the second time ever combined in one weekend, anywhere — inversion therapy (inversion table and inversion boots), breathing techniques, AND fundamental to advanced coursework in Indian Clubs training. This boils down to only $25/hr to learn from two modern day physical education pioneers in not only the ancient practice of Indian Clubs (here, specifically it's use for rehab), but numerous other modalities. We already have students coming in from across the US, as well as the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. Live instruction and practice of all three, including the trailblazing work in breathing that is now bringing incredible change within the medical community. CEU/CECs available* WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR? Students looking to increase mobilty and stability. Students looking to regain shoulder mobility. Students looking for mindful training practices. And to all training warriors out there: IF YOU TRAIN HARD FULLTIME, YOU NEED ACTIVE RECOVERY TRAINING IN YOUR PRACTICE. This course will fully equip you for just that. INVERSION A legend in his own right, Dr. Thomas also had the honor of working with the inventor of the inversion therapy, which you may have seen as the inversion table/inversion boots—Dr. Robert Martin—and is carrying on his legacy and teachings. Inversion is one of the 3 Uncommon Postures that Dr. Martin talked and wrote about at length throughout the years. Many of us spend most of our lives in the flexed, horizontal, and upright positions. How we train today, and how we live, accelerates gravity's pull on our bodies and distorts our postures. Inversion does the opposite, and is something that needs to be integrated safely into our training programs. BREATHING Dr. Thomas has been studying and practicing a unique method of training breathing by using a Harmonica for over 65 years. This method is now becoming more popular in the medical community for its benefits with COPD patients. Innovative to say the least, this type of breathing brings the lungs back to life and does so with an affordable and easiliy accessible tool that naturally teaches you how to breathe from the belly. Perfect for your own practice, and for those who coach or train others. INDIAN CLUBS Very rich in history, with a long lineage, Indian Clubs have become more popular over the last few years thanks to a few key players in the industry, two of which will be teaching this course. “Thomas began learning the old German functional club swinging system when he was a boy in the early-1950’s, and eventually studied the art in Germany, Burma, and Korea. He began teaching his club swinging method to students at Northern Illinois University in the 1980’s, and to Soldiers and civilians at Fort Benning, Georgia in the 1990’s. His efforts have since inspired thousands to explore the benefits of this ancient art.” Whether you are a trainer, clinician, coach, or just someone who wants to improve their mobility, breathing, shoulder health, and more—learning this ancient art form, and especially in the presence of Dr. Thomas, is a true gift. These two educators have come together to teach in 2015 (clubs only), 2020 (all three modalities), and now 2024 (all three modalities). Though Scarito still travels to teach fulltime, Dr. Ed Thomas is at a point in his life journey and educational journey—as someone who has over six decades of highest level experience and education in this industry—where he rarely comes out to teach the public. His last appearance was February 2020. DV8 was very excited when he contacted Phil Scarito to run this course again together once more.
