Saturday Storytime: Dreamtime Stories & Craft with Aunty Michelle (3-7 yrs) is an exciting event taking place at the East Maitland Library in East Maitland. This special program, led by renowned Storyteller Aunty Michelle Napanangka Earl, offers a unique opportunity to learn about First Nations concepts, cultural perspectives, and history through engaging stories and craft activities.
Aunty Michelle, a proud Darkinjung woman with Wonnarua ties, is a local artist and basket weaver from Kilipiynpiyn Workshops. With a personal connection to the Hunter region, she passionately teaches and celebrates the traditional Aboriginal culture of the communities across the valley. The knowledge and skills she shares have been passed down for thousands of years, ensuring that the rich visual and oral history of her ancient culture is preserved and not forgotten.
Join Aunty Michelle on the first Saturday of each month during the school term for this free program. Bookings are essential as spaces are limited. All children aged 3-7 years must have a ticket and be accompanied by a responsible adult. Materials will be provided, making it a hassle-free experience for everyone.
