2025 is the year for the new Inclusive Bouldering for Neurodivergent Youth Tuesday monthly climbing club! Who will be named Gafael Galed (Hard Grip). Venue: Boulders Culverhouse Cross, VALEGATE RETAIL PARK, Culverhouse Cross, Cardiff CF5 6EH Age 7-10 / 6-7pm Age 11-15 / 7-8pm We are delighted to run monthly Inclusive Bouldering Sessions for neurodivergent and autistic youth. Small groups of just 6 students or less, all equipment and instruction provided. . Formed to try new activities, opportunities to socialise, build confidence, develop body awareness, and foster trust...and ofcourse climb away!! Accompanying adults can watch from the cafe seating area. (There may be opportunities to train up to be volunteer assistants-please get in contact if this is of interest). Each monthly club sessions must be booked individually, but feel free to book into them all. These sessions are funded by Vale of Glamorgan LA, so please try not to waste spaces if you book, remember to cancel on eventbrite, so others can fill these valuable spaces. Please only book the individuals who will be doing the activity. Aerial, Matcha, Mindfulness You know we love trying new things here at GWR, so, we’ve teamed up with some gorgeous local businesses @aerial.athletica + @atlibertys to organise the most fun workshop ever !! The Aerial class will be two hours long and super beginner friendly (we’re all newbies here!!) with an intimate group size of 12 to ensure everyone gets their chance on each apparatus. Once we’ve mastered our circus skills, we’ll head over to Liberty’s for a matcha and mindfulness session. Lac Milan is an everyday rapper, searching for soul in sparkling water, trees, the multinational franchise Spar, and himself. ANAT BEN-DAVID’sapproach to time-based work, music performance and film, is founded in exploring the freedom of live improvisation combined with structural methods. Her background in experimental theatre (the School of Visual Theatre, Jerusalem) and as a member of electro-punk band and art collective Chicks On Speed, has led to projects such as Kairos OperaArt (commissioned for the opening of the new wing of Victoria and Albert Museum in 2017) where live electronic processing meets classical instrumentation in a fusion of mediums and genres JAMES OLDHAMis a composer and performer specialising in experimental music and multimedia performance art. Edale Skyline Guided Trail Run Join Finding The Fells for this classic route taking in the Great Ridge, Win Hill and it's stunning 360 degree views over Ladybower and the rugged boulder strewn landscape that is Kinder Scout. Ideal for: runners seeking a challenging day in the hills or those training for bigger distances. The pace will be sociable and the focus is on enjoyment over speed! Ideally you've completed hilly runs of around 15+ miles in the leadup. Distance & Elevation: 20.3 miles /3,400ft Terrain: Flagstones, compacted dirt, mud, rock, grass. Required kit: off road/grippy running shoes essential, along with buff, waterproof jacket, snacks, water and any personal meds and running pack. Extra long sleeve layer and hat/gloves advised. Route description: Starting from Blue John Cavern we'll head up to the summit of Mam Tor via it's western staircase and then follow the Great Ridge to Lose Hill. We'll then drop into the valley before ascending up to Win Hill (hopefully with clear views over Ladybower) then head north west passing Hope Cross on the way to the Kinder Scout plateau. Following the southern edge all the way to Kinder Low trig point, we'll then head along the flagstone path over Brown Knoll then eastwards along Lord's Seat to get back to the start. Meeting at 8:45am – should be plentiful parking at this time by Blue John Cavern or on Sheffield Road. Meeting at the small cafe hut/bus stop outside Blue John Cavern.
