The 'Laugh My Tuchus Off' Comedy Series is the first experience at the Prosserman JCC focusing on rising Jewish stars of the comedy circuit while also featuring Canadian veterans in unique ways. The JCC is excited to feature powerhouses like Iris Bahr, who was a reoccuring character on Curb your Enthusiasm, a sit down with the legend Colin Mochrie from Who's Line Was it and Tik Tok viral sensations Eitan Levine and Liz Glazer. Raanan has performed his high-energy, joke-packed comedy on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Late, Late Show with James Corden, and Comedy Central. His 2nd to last special ‘Jokes from the Underground’ was included in the New York Times ‘Best Comedy of 2022’, where critic Jason Zinoman called it the funniest YouTube Special of the year, and said ‘his punchy and deliriously funny club comedy made me laugh after second and third viewings.’ His most recent special BRAVE also got a rave review in the NYTIMES. This groundbreaking ensemble showcases the exceptional talents of Eric Abramovitz, Principal Clarinetist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, alongside Drew Jurecka, a Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist and arranger. Also featured are the virtuosic violinist, vocalist, and composer Rebekah Wolkstein, founder and leader of the acclaimed Payadora Ensemble; Juno-nominated bassist Michael Herring; and Juno Award-winning pianist Jeremy Ledbetter. Together, this ensemble is pushing the boundaries of Yiddish music, seamlessly blending classical mastery with innovative compositions and soulful arrangements. The band's trajectory has been nothing short of exhilarating. Just six months after Abramovitz and Wolkstein conceived the idea of forming this group, they debuted a full show of original music and inventive arrangements. Their inaugural performance, a live-to-air broadcast with a studio audience at Zoomer Hall in Toronto for Classical 96.3FM, took place in May 2024. The Bathurst Archers Women and Girls Program runs on every 2nd and 3rd Saturday of the month. We encourage all women and girls to come along and try archery and have some fun. It’s a fantastic sport and you’ll make lots of friends along the way and become part of a great community. Sessions run from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm weather permitting. Each session costs $10.00 ($5.00 for Club members). We ask all participants to arrive by 12.30 pm to sign in and get equipment.
