Hove
Cultural Experiences
Date: Saturday 28 June 2025 Location: Porteur Cafe, 210 Church Road, Hove, BN3 2DJ Whether you're here to smash it round the full course or signing up for your first 100km or 200km off road ride - we've got you covered. Not to blow our own trumpets but the course is sick. It's comprised of our favourite South Downs trails and consists of two loops from Porteur Cafe, one West, one East.  200km participants will start at 6am completing both loops and the 100km people will set off around lunchtime to do the East loop. The plan is that everyone finishes at some stage on the evening for food and prize giving! The GPX of the route will be published soon but rest assured you'll face some spicy hills and your in for a long day out so keep firing the furnace with plenty of carbs.  We'll be recommending resupply points including cafes and shops so keep an eye out for the route guide which will be published nearer the ride. It's not a race but an inclusive event  where everyone is welcome, so don't worry if you've not done an event like this before, there'll be plenty of friendly faces and moral support along the way. The route will be 100% ridable on a gravel bike but a mountain bike would also be a good option. As well as some food at the finish, we'll be giving away some freebies from our sponsors which will be announced soon. Peace ✌️and see you soon  Information Source: Josie & Martin | eventbrite

Feral Minks - Kitchener-based rock band Feral Minks began as a solo project in the throes of the pandemic, initiated by lead singer and guitarist Kent Merriam. By early 2021, Merriam had released the debut EP "Loam" under the Feral Minks name, which quickly garnered attention from Jay Emmons of The Glorious Sons. This led to Emmons and his longtime collaborator Steve Kirstein taking the reins for the production of Feral Minks' second EP. To complete their lineup, the band enlisted experienced rock musicians from the Kitchener scene: Algernon Friolet, Jay Hogle, and Ryan Whitney. Since the release of their debut self-titled EP in the fall of 2023, Feral Minks has been on an unstoppable trajectory. In 2024, they clinched HTZ FM’s prestigious Rock Search title, joining the ranks of Canadian legends like Finger 11, The Trews, and The Glorious Sons. They have performed with City and Colour at the Tall Pines Music and Arts Festival and shared the stage with The Glorious Sons at the Key To Bala. This fall, Feral Minks will be releasing their highly anticipated sophomore EP, "Young Desire," and embarking on their first headline tour, which will see them hitting 12 markets across Southeastern Ontario. ACTUAL PROOF is Welland, Ontario’s favourite jazz fusion trio. Formed in 2023, the band captures the complex, electric sound of history’s jazz fusion giants and makes it danceable. Combining the talents of Nash Crowther, Nicholas King and Samuele Raso, ACTUAL PROOF is inventing a funky fresh new sound that will provide you with -actual proof- that the music isn’t dead. This is not a show to be missed!! Whine Problem is an alternative band from London, Ontario. Female fronted and queer, Whine Problem is a chemistry-fueled culmination of all of their influences, including post-hardcore, art rock, folk, indie and punk. Recently featured on Exclaim! Magazines “5 Emerging Canadian Artists You Need To Hear in March 2025”, this group continues to quite socially conscious music that they want to hear, and they want to be heard. You can find their debut EP, Sleem, on all streaming platforms and Bandcamp. Information Source: The Bank, Art House | eventbrite

Lie back, surrender to total relaxation, and allow yourself to be immersed in the soothing frequencies and vibrations of crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, Himalayan bowls, shamanic drums, and percussion. Jennie will guide you through an intuitive sound journey, blending her instruments throughout the 1-hour session. This experience is unique for each individual, as the sounds create a deeply meditative state that encourages the release of tension in both body and mind, fostering a sense of groundedness and inner healing. The therapeutic vibrations of the sound bath have the power to entrain brainwave frequencies, permeate the subtle layers of consciousness, and harmonize the body, mind, and spirit, bringing you to a state of wholeness. During the session, you may choose to completely surrender, drifting into a dreamlike, deeply restful state, or you may practice deep listening, noticing the subtle shifts and responses in your body and mind. The event will take place upstairs in the serene loft room beneath a stunning arched ceiling. Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before the start time to ensure the space is prepared for your experience. We begin promptly at 7:30pm, and once the session begins, no late arrivals will be permitted. For maximum comfort and relaxation, you are encouraged to bring warm clothing, a mat, blanket, eye pillow, or cushion to support your body while lying down for the duration of the session. Jennie looks forward to sharing this healing journey with you. Information Source: Jennie O'Halloran | eventbrite

Cultural Experiences
Tarot began as a game in 15th-century Europe and has since evolved into a powerful tool for reflection, storytelling, and personal insight. The 78-card deck speaks in symbols—offering not answers, but invitations: to pause, to wonder, to listen more closely to yourself. This ongoing workshop welcomes anyone interested in exploring tarot in a thoughtful, down-to-earth way. You don’t need to “believe” in anything—just bring your curiosity. Each session is shaped by shared reflection and focused study. We’ll begin by spending about half an hour discussing our personal interpretations of a single tarot card. Then, we’ll explore the card’s traditional meanings through guided reading and conversation, using The Ultimate Guide to Tarot as our reference. Finally, we’ll close with a simple spread designed to anchor the card’s themes and help you connect them to your own life. Participants will receive a classic Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck to use and keep. Copies of The Ultimate Guide to Tarot will be available for purchase. Natalie Reyes is a Reiki Master and practicing psychic/medium with a background in speech-language pathology. Natalie brings a grounded, intuitive presence to her work and values kindness, clarity, and open-hearted learning. Information Source: Bookends & Beginnings | eventbrite
