Volunteer Extravaganza 2025 | The Forum
Jun 5, 2025 (UTC+1)
Norwich
Are you part of a local charity, community group, or social enterprise in Norfolk seeking new volunteers? This is your opportunity to showcase your work and connect with potential volunteers!
Join us for the
Volunteer Extravaganza 2025
—a celebration of volunteering! This isn’t just another volunteering fair; it's a vibrant and interactive event that invites the public to learn about your organisation and explore how they can contribute.
We're inviting voluntary groups from across Norfolk to set up stalls or "activity spaces" to demonstrate the incredible work you're doing. If you're unsure what you might present, don't worry—let your creativity shine! Whether you're planning hands-on activities or sharing inspiring stories, we encourage you to make your stall a fun and engaging experience.
Potential activity ideas include:
Knitting, sewing or mending
Arts and crafts
Gardening, composting or outdoor activities
Games, puzzles, or Lego
Demonstrating the specific activities your volunteers do
Current volunteers talking about their experiences
We know not every organisation has a hands-on volunteer role they can easily demonstrate, such as those in befriending, health, or sports. We invite you to think creatively about how to engage with attendees and spark conversations about the important work you do.
To help you prepare, we’ll be hosting an informal meeting where you can discuss ideas and ask any questions—so even if you're unsure, we’re here to help!
After the event, there will be a networking session from 3:00 - 4:00 PM
, with refreshments provided, so you can connect with other organisations and share experiences.
How to Participate:
To secure your stall, simply book your place here. A fee is required to help cover promotional, venue and logistical costs and to ensure attendance. A credit or debit card will be needed for payment through Eventbrite.
If you’re interested in having a stall for a shorter duration, why not partner up with another local organisation?
Questions?
Feel free to reach out to us at
communities@voluntarynorfolk.org.uk
. We're happy to help!
This event is supported by the Empowering Communities partnership.

Programme
Frank Bridge
- Phantasie Trio (Piano Trio No.1) in c minor, H.79
Antonín Dvořák
- Piano Trio No. 4 "Dumky", Op. 90
The London Bridge Trio is one of Britain’s most exciting and brilliant chamber groups, whose primary focus is driven by the piano trio repertoire. Originally formed in 2002 as the London Bridge Ensemble, they continue to prioritise strong, composer-led programmes and collaborate with regular guest artists.
"The poetry, flexibility and ardour displayed by these gifted players held me captive from
first note to last."
Gramophone
The London Bridge Trio is one of Britain’s leading chamber ensembles, known for their deeply nuanced and searching interpretations. Formed in 2002, they continue their original mission of prioritising strong, composer-led programmes, often collaborating with regular guest artists. Their name reflects an admiration for English music of the early twentieth century, which forms part of the group’s varied repertoire and is represented by their hugely successful Frank Bridge recordings. For 2022 and beyond, founder Daniel Tong is joined by Ben Hancox and Cara Berridge, both members of the acclaimed Sacconi Quartet with whom Daniel has performed on numerous occasions.
"Their performance of the Bridge Trio was one of the great chamber music experiences of my life."
DAVID MATTHEWS, COMPOSER
Over recent years the trio has appeared frequently in London with Wigmore Hall and Kings Place concerts as well as a residency at St John’s Smith Square, entitled ‘Brahms and his World’, which represented four aspects of his composing life with mixed combinations and song. Their concert of Czech music at Champs Hill in Sussex was broadcast live by BBC Radio 3, and their concerts at St George’s Bristol were broadcast as a series of BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Concerts. The group has also appeared at venues including Queen's Hall, St George’s and the Ponte de Lima Festival (Portugal).

Are you confident that you are 100% sure about exactly what your customers want, need and do? Do you worry that you rely too much on your gut feeling, and would like more concrete evidence to back your decisions? Are you positive that you know enough about your customers and your competitors to avoid making costly mistakes? Do you know what you don’t know?!
If you are looking to grow your business and get ahead of your competition, mitigate the risks of new products and services, have a deeper understanding of how best to communicate with your audience, or understand how your market is changing in this fast-moving world, market research could really help.
But what is market research, and how does it all work? (spoiler alert – it doesn’t involve clipboards and hassling people in the street!)
Join this session to hear
Steph Rowley
talk about the different ways that businesses can use qualitative market research to grow through making more informed decisions.
Using real life examples from her 25 year career in commercial qualitative research, she’ll talk about:
Why understanding the weird and wonderful world of how consumers think and behave is so important for businesses – and what can go wrong when you don’t
How market research can be practically used to guide decision-making and avoid the need to cross your fingers and hope for the best
The role AI is playing in the world of research, and how you can use it to your advantage
Why research doesn’t need to be big, slow and expensive to be effective
We’ll then go into a Q&A where Steph can answer all your research-related questions – or better yet, bring along a burning question you’d love to answer about your business, your customers or your competitors, and she’ll show you how research could help.

Fright Years + Gabby Rivers and Arthur Black | Voodoo Daddy's
Jun 12, 2025 (UTC+1)
Norwich
Fright Years are an Edinburgh-based band crafting music that’s as emotionally charged as it is cinematic. Their songs are born out of the pure joy of making music together, with each track designed to tell its own story, full of mood and depth. They aren’t afraid to get vulnerable, weaving sentimentality into their guitar-heavy soundscapes.
The band’s journey kicked off when vocalist Jules and guitarist Harrison met over a double booked rehearsal room at Edinburgh Art College. After a series of chance encounters, bassist CJ and drummer Struan soon joined, completing the lineup.
By 2024, Fright Years had released three singles that gained attention from BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing Scotland, and media outlets like Clash and The Line of Best Fit. The band quickly became known as “a band to keep an eye on” (Flex, 2024) and “names you’ll want to remember” (Lock, 2024). Their track Let Me Down even landed at #35 in The Herald’s “Top 100 Songs from Scotland in 2023.”
Fright Years worked with producer Theo Verney (English Teacher, Lime Garden, Blood Wizard) on their new batch of work pushing their sound into exciting territory with a mix of melancholic, guitar-driven energy and a warm, melodic touch through live recording techniques. The new music shows just how far the band has come, blending emotion with ambition in every note. That ambition caught the attention of BBC Introducing Scotland and BBC Radio 1’s Jess Iszatt, who continues to support the band.
Fright Years are Jules Kelly, Harrison MacLeod-Bonnar, Christopher Jamieson, and Struan Blacklock.
