Painting
2-day workshop, June 21st and 28th, 9:00 am tp 12:00 noon. Join us for two relaxing mornings in Jester Park, painting the landscape in gouache. Gouache (opaque watercolor) is a water-based, friendly, forgiving painting medium that allows you to work from light to dark like watercolor, or dark to light like oil or acrylic. Beginners can learn the fundamentals of plein air painting and gouache painting, and more experienced painters can improve your skills with color mixing, paint consistency, brush handling, painting what you see more accurately, and the representation of trees, fields and atmospheric perspective. Includes demonstration by the instructor and individual instruction at each student’s level of ability and interest. Gouache paint will be provided for use during the workshop. This is an opportunity to try gouache withour having to invest in paint!
