Coventry
Bluebells are a beautiful sign of ancient woodland, and the UK has up to half of the world’s bluebell population.
Warwickshire
is blessed with several local woodlands with wonderful displays of bluebells. It is that wonderful time of year when the bluebells cover the floors of our beautiful woodlands.
Come and take some time away from the hustle and bustle with the rangers and enjoy a tranquil springtime walk through one of Warwickshire's most beautiful bluebell woods.
Other spring flowers you may spot could be delicate wood anemones, primroses, stitchwort, celandine and bugle as well as butterflies such as Orange Tip, Peacock,
Speckled Wood
and Brimstone. As a bonus, birdsong is a joy to hear, plus woodpeckers drumming on trees.
The bluebell woods are just a short walk from the car park and facilities, and once in the woods we will follow the winding paths in the wood to take in the springtime scene on the .... mile woodland walk. (Good sturdy footwear is recommended)

Sound Bath meditation | Allesley Village Hall
May 3, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Coventry
An ideal opportunity to switch off relax and just focus on you, letting any tension or stress disperse, whilst immersing in a tranquil setting of the sounds and vibrations of traditional healing instruments to rebalance and restore.
A sound bath is a meditative experience which stimulates brain wave frequencies to create a theta brain wave state (the state of REM sleep). This Theta state is conducive to cellular healing & recalibrates your body and mind.
The waves bring your body into a parasympathetic state helping to regulate blood pressure, ease tension, reduce anxiety and simply relax your mind & body to allow you to drift off and wake later fully rested, knowing the sound frequencies have helped stabilise your inner compass.
Treat yourself by taking an hour out to delve into a deeper into this blissful state of rest and relaxation.
Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult & be able to tolerate noise vibrations & lie quietly during the session (not suitable for those under 13 years of age)
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE SESSION
Simply lie down or be seated in a comfortable position snuggle up in your blanket and let yourself drift off allowing the sounds of the traditional healing instruments to wash over you to create a sense of inner calm and tranquillity. A time to practice self-care and compassion, travel inwards and release what no longer serves, enlightening your energetic vibration. Wake later fully rested
We begin with a short guided meditation which leads into a wonderful sound bath using a wide variety of instruments such as the Ocean drum, Tibetan and Crystal singing Bowls, Gongs amongst others through which you will experience a variety of vibrations generated in the room. The vibration of the gong is a powerful method for reducing stress, inducing a holistic resonance in the body and a spontaneous meditative state in the mind, leading to a sense of greater awareness and an intense sense of having let go.
60 minutes of pure restorative bliss!
No two sound healings are the same nor are two individual experiences but be assured you will leave the session in a more rested and peaceful state of mind.

Bombs in Coventry: The 1939 IRA Attack & The 1940 Blitz | Coventry Cathedral
May 8, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Coventry
Join historians Adam Wood and Adam Neale at the John Laing Centre, Coventry Cathedral for illustrated talks on two of the most notorious incidents from the city's past.
The 1939 Bombing of Broadgate - Adam Wood
On 25 August 1939 a bicycle was parked up against the kerb outside Astley's shop on Broadgate, with a deadly cargo in its carrier basket. It was a Friday lunchtime, and the street was packed with people. At 2.30pm a huge explosion threw passers-by to the floor and blew the glass from the windows of shops and offices the length of the street. More than sixty people were injured, a dozen seriously, and five people lost their lives. Hear the human stories of those involved, and how the families of the dead attempted to rebuild their shattered lives.
The Coventry Blitz of 1940 - Adam Neale
On the night of 14 November 1940 the biggest air raid in history began. Bombs began to fall on one of the oldest cities in England. Learn what really happened: whether it was preventable, the heroic struggles, and real life testimonies of people who were there as the city burned.
Doors open 1:30pm.
Ticket price includes refreshments.
Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Coventry Cathedral.

About Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School
Sacred Heart is a 400+ pupil Catholic primary school located in the east of Coventry City. They started their OPAL journey in 2021 and achieved their platinum award in 2023. Their play offer is outstanding, ensuring every child has a fantastic playtime every single day. The school has a large loose parts shed, a large, natural sandpit, digging area, water play, den building, music, dressing up, arts and crafts, an extensive forest area and wheeled play area.
The strong play team is very committed to continually improving their play offer, led by a fantastic OPAL working group – and helped by their very supportive parents and local community. The level of purposeful engagement of every child at playtime is awe-inspiring. Whether it is making a five-tiered wedding cake in the messy cafe, building dens in the woodland and sandcastles at the beach, dressing up as Spider-Man, banging symbols in the music hut, or simply pushing your mate around in a pushchair, there is not a single child not doing something fun, that they have chosen to do!
