Interested in learning to weld? Wether you're an artist, creative, outdoor enthusiast or just plain curious, welding is a skill that will open up your tool arsenal for what you can create. Anyone can learn to weld, it just takes the willingness to try, make some mistakes, and keep trucking!
You may even have a welder at home but don't know how to use it...this is a great intro level class to get you started.
If you’ve ever wanted to create something involving metal but didn’t know exactly how to do it we encourage you to explore that! Come take an intro welding class and learn the foundations of working with metal. Cutting, grinding, multiple types of welding including Flux core, MIG, and some other handy skills like plasma cutting will be touched on in this class.
This is a basic welding introduction and each student will have the opportunity to practice the above types of techniques while also learning how to set up welders, terminology and other cool stuff!
Materials
Visual Philosophy provides all the necessary materials for starting your welding journey.

Is special clothing required?
Generally the more skin you cover the better. Wear long pants and a cotton shirt. Long sleeve shirts are recommended. Avoid synthetic clothing which can melt to skin, this includes nylon, polyester, rayon, polypro, etc. Closed toe shoes are required.
Eye Protection is MANDATORY and will be provided at the shop.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
There are no age limits for this class, however, for students younger than 18, we ask that a parent or guardian sign a liability waiver. This is an intro level workshop. There are no prerequisites.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Visual Philosophy has a parking lot available to attendees in the rear of the building accessible via Julian St. HWY 280, 87 and Diridon Caltrain station are very close.

Located in Downtown San Jose, Garden To Table SV is a one-acre urban education farm. We are offering Summer Camps for ages 5-11 years old.
Camp will be held
June 9-13th,2025 from
9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Children will learn about gardening and environmental stewardship, while getting their hands dirty planting seeds, harvesting produce, and playing with worms and chickens. Our programming also includes exciting STEAM-based activities, arts and crafts, and plenty of time for outdoor play!

At a BioBlitz, scientists, families, students, teachers, and other community members work together to get an overall count of the plants, animals, fungi, and other organisms that live in a place.
Located in the heart of San Jose, the park we will be at is a safe haven for many species of plants and animals right along Coyote Creek. Join Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful and partners in cataloging and documenting all of the wildlife that reside there. We will have experts in various fields to help guide participants through all the cool plants and wildlife.

The hands-on, interactive structure of these classes utilizes real-world examples to provide a complete technical education in just four days. IDEC PLC-HMI Training Class
IDEC PLC & HMI Training Covers:
1. PLC fundamentals such as hardware, numbering systems and how a PLC works.
2. Basic functions: latching circuit, series and parallel circuits; how to use timers, counters and advanced functions such as data manipulation; Modbus Communications and PID.
3. Demonstrations on the MicroSmart FC6A.
4. Programming on the high-performance HMI.
5. Question & Answer session with our PLC experts to discuss your specific controls application.
Who Should Attend
IDEC training courses are highly recommended for all OEM, technicians, supervisors, engineers, designers, machine builders, system integrators, maintenance personnel and end users with IDEC equipment.
