TASTER Foraging Workshop near Worcester (Worcestershire) | Worcester Woods Country Park
May 24, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Worcester
This course is designed to get you as involved as possible - this includes identifying, picking and tasting a range of wild species that will be found on the day. There will also be samples of wild food for everyone to get stuck into!
The focus with all of our workshops is on the 4 'F's of Foraging:
Fungi, Fruit, Flowers and Foliage
. We aim for an array of these elements on every session we run (weather and season permitting!)
Event sold out or can't make this date? Head to
www.foragebox.co.uk/workshops
or view our
Eventbrite profile
to browse all available sessions.
What To Expect
Our 'Taster' events are our shortest workshops, open to anyone looking for a brief but informative introduction to the wonderful world of foraging. No formal food is provided, but there will still be plenty of tasting along the way.
DURATION: 2 hours
We like to keep some elements a surprise for the day, but here is what you can expect from your foraging workshop:
a short introduction regarding the safety and format of the day
discussions around foraging tips, safety, ethics, etiquette, sustainability and the law
a circular walking route taking in different growing environments around the site.
Expect a route of around 2-3km predominantly on footpaths
a closer look at edible wild species and any poisonous lookalikes by a professional forager
a chance to slow the pace of modern life down, meet new people and immerse yourself in a soul-nourishing activity, reconnecting with nature and discovering new flavours
small tasters of wild food - this may even include freshly-picked items straight from the wild.
our workshops are run in a welcoming and informal fashion, where attendee questions and contributions are encouraged
after the event, you will be sent a follow-up email containing a list of everything we found on the day. Please do not expect photos or descriptions in this email - it is purely a list for reference purposes, and we find it helps people do further research in their own time.
Please note: as with most of our events, this is an educational experience and not a 'basket-filling' session
.
At the end of the session, there may be a small selection of
our wild products
and workshop vouchers available to purchase (card and cash accepted). This is a recent element of our events after enough attendees made enquiries about it - there is no pressure to buy anything having already bought tickets but sometimes people want a souvenir to take with them! Please speak to your tutor about this at the end.
Who Is This Workshop For?
These events are perfect for everyone - families, bushcrafters and dog-walkers alike! Nobody is made to feel out of their depth or silly for not knowing what certain things are, so these events suit absolute novices to more experienced hobby foragers alike.
We strongly believe that
foraging is for everyone
, with all demographics welcome, regardless of age, ability, gender or ethnicity.
Please read our FAQs further down the page to find out about dogs, children and mobility.

Blood on the Clocktower - Trouble Brewing - Worcester | The Dice Box
May 6, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Worcester
Description
- In this fun social deduction game you will be randomly dealt a character. If you’re in the good team it is your job to discover allies, root out evil and execute the Demon! However, if you are evil you must deceive and confuse the good with your known evil team to ensure that your Demon survives until the end.
Venue
- We will be playing upstairs in the library space, which is very spacious and has table service, unfortunately there isn't any disabled access. There is a lovely range of food and drinks on offer, which you’re welcome to have during play.
Gameplay
- Sean & Ian will alternate storytelling Trouble Brewing. We will play as many games as possible in the session, this will likely range from 2-5 games depending on how the games go and how many players we have.
Parking
- There are plenty of car parks in the surrounding area. I'd recommend St Martin's Gate Car Park (WR1 2BS) then walk over the bridge on level 2, to New Street. It has RingGo (7793) and closes at midnight. Sean will be parking there and is happy to walk back with anyone after the event, if they wish.
Beginner Players
- If you have little to no experience or just want to go through the rules again then please come
15 minutes before the event start time
. Ian or Sean will do a full rules teach with Q&A time and then you should have the full session to play. I would also recommend watching some YouTube videos on how to play too.
AOB
- You don't need to bring anything however cosplay is encouraged. There will be pictures and videos taken, if you do not wish to be in these then let the storyteller know. If you arrive late or need to leave early you will be made into a traveller, which gets to play but won’t be as capable as the main characters.

Star Trek Adventures: Human Wrongs | The Dice Box
May 7, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Worcester
Star Trek Adventures one-shot : "Human Wrongs"
You awake, noticing immediately the absence of a certain sound: the whispering thrum of the warp core reverberating through the ship is gone. And so is your mattress. You jolt upright to find yourself sat on the flat, stone floor of a cavernous chamber.
As you look around, you see other Starfleet personnel, waking up or clambering to their feet. Their uniforms are multifarious, each distinguished by the presence or absence of certain
tweaks, flourishes and colour fields. Some uniforms are familiar, others are quite unknown to you, and some look outmoded or outright historical. You might even spot a few famous faces among this patchwork crew...
But what is this place? The other crew members all seem to be asking the same question as they introduce themselves in muted tones, recalling their own names and ranks, but no one knows how they arrived here.
Then a series of green flashes emanate from tunnels into the chamber, followed momentarily by the harsh
buzz-
whoosh of disruptor fire bouncing through the caves. Reacting, the Starfleet crew members all snap to alert and some reach for handheld phasers at their hips... only to find they are quite unarmed!
Get ready for an adventure that in the best tradition of Trek is part-action, part-mystery puzzle, part-ethical dilemma, and in this particular case: part-Star Trek renaissance fair. Use diplomacy skills, use makeshift handheld phasers, use the tenets of humanistic moral philosophy, use science as a verb, as you step into the shoes of one of Star Fleet's finest, and solve, orate, or phaser-blast your way to a shocking finale.
No previous experience with the RPG Star Trek Adventures is required. We'll keep it rules-lite and story-focused. You do not need to have a Vulcan Science Academy-level knowledge of the Star Trek universe to play the game, nor this scenario. However, familiarity with at least one of the TV shows would be good (i.e. TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, DSC, PIC, LDS, PRO, SNW). We will try to avoid any major spoilers for any of the streaming-era TV shows (i.e. DSC onwards).

Martin Stephenson
began his career as a busker aged 15. He then spent three years plying his trade as the guitar player in various bands in the North East of England . But Martin wanted more, he wanted to tell stories of his own and he was quickly developing ways of doing just that.
He developed his song-writing technique by firstly learning a few licks from a Spanish guitar book and repeated the process with Jazz, Blues, Country, SkifFle, Reggae etc. Eventually, this glorious collision of styles would become the trademark which Martin has carried through his career of almost 40 years.
Martin formed his band
The Daintees
, who became busking sensations and were signed by
Kitchenware
at around the same time as
Prefab Sprout
and
Hurrah!
The band, and indeed Martin, have always been known for their incredible range of styles, each album covering a multitude of genres, tempos and moods.
The Daintees
went on to release four
critically acclaimed
albums between 1986 & 1992;
Boat To Bolivia, Gladsome Humour and Blue, Salutation Road
, and
The Boys Hear
t.
https://daintees.co.uk
Martin has since supported himself through a combination of extensive live work and a multitude of self financed solo albums.
2000 saw the reformation of the
Daintees
, and to this day Martin splits his time between solo and small collaborative projects with band albums and annual celebratory
Daintees
UK tours.

How Speed Dating Works in Worcester
When you arrive at the Worcester for venue you will be greeted by our friendly professional hosts. Once everyone has arrived and registered we will briefly explain the format of the evening. The ladies will then be asked to make their way to their allocated table. Once the ladies are seated the gentlemen will be asked to proceed to their first date.
You will have 4 minutes to chat to each date, once the 4 minutes is over we will ring a bell to indicate the time is up and for the gentlemen to move to their next date. Four minutes is long enough to see if you click with the person you are talking to and whether you would like to see them again and also short enough if you don't.
At the end of each date you have a brief few moments to make some notes on the person you have just dated. This is something to help jog your memory for the post event matching process the next day.
Half way through the event you will have an interval break so you can nip to the toilet or top up your drink. Once all the dates are over you have the opportunity to stay on at the venue to mingle freely with others. Please remember to take your dating card home with you to assist you in entering in your ticks and potential matches.
Post Event
No later than 11am the following morning our matching system will be unlocked for you to enter your ticks from the previous evening. This includes application of core principles and concepts in emergency management and public health as introduced in the CDLS Course through the PRE-DISASTER Paradigm and DISASTER Paradigm. The primary focus of the BDLS Course is incorporation of an “all-hazards” approach to mass casualty management and population-based care across a broad range of disasters. Measures to ensure and enhance health Workforce readiness are emphasized throughout the course. This includes a consistent and scalable approach to workforce protection and casualty management, as Well as mass casualty triage and fatality management. The BDLS Course is designed to engage participants through interactive scenarios and group discussion. The overarching aim of the BDLS Course is to teach a common lexicon, vocabulary, and knowledge base for the clinical and public health management of all ages and populations affected by disasters and public health emergencies, through a standardized curriculum that is practical and relevant for all health professionals. Blood on the Clocktower - Trouble Brewing + Sects & Violets - Worcester | The Dice Box
May 18, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Worcester
Description
- In this fun social deduction game you will be randomly dealt a character. If you’re in the good team it is your job to discover allies, root out evil and execute the Demon! However, if you are evil you must deceive and confuse the good with your known evil team to ensure that your Demon survives until the end.
Parking
- There are plenty of car parks in the surrounding area. I'd recommend St Martin's Gate Car Park (WR1 2BS) then walk over the bridge on level 2, to New Street. It has RingGo (7793) and closes at midnight. Sean will be parking there and is happy to walk back with anyone after the event, if you wish.
Venue
- We will be playing upstairs in the library space, which is very spacious and has table service, unfortunately there isn't any disabled access. There is a lovely range of food and drinks on offer, which you’re welcome to have during play.
Storytellers
– Sean & Ian
Beginner Players (Trouble Brewing Only!)
- If you have little experience or just want to go through the rules again then please come
15 minutes before the event start time
. The storytellers will do a full rules teach with Q&A time and then you should have the full session to play. I would also recommend watching some YouTube videos on how to play too.
Advanced Players (Sects & Violets) -
If you have played no fewer than 10 games of Trouble Brewing you might want to try Sects & Violets, which is the more advanced version of Blood on the Clocktower, with new characters and new maddening mechanics.
Gameplay
- At this event there are 2 sessions both lasting 3 hours each, the storytellers will alternate storytelling Trouble Brewing in the Trouble Brewing session and Sects & Violets in the Sects & Violets session. We will play as many games as possible in each session, this will likely range from 2-5 games depending on how the games go and how many players we have.
AOB
- You don't need to bring anything however cosplay is encouraged. There will be pictures and videos taken, if you do not wish to be in these then let the storyteller know. If you arrive late or need to leave early you will be made into a traveller, which gets to play but won’t be as capable as the main characters.
