Any MAP student aged 11–15 may participate as a delegate. Join us to: Learn more about the MMUN experience Connect with our MMUN faculty and student leaders Get answers to FAQs about participation, costs, and travel What makes MMUN different from other Model United Nations programs? While most model UN programs are designed for high school students, MAP students can participate in MMUN as early as 7th grade, or age 11; this is a sensitive period for the development of critical thinking skills and for considering one's own role as an contributing individual in the context of society, and MMUN presents a developmentally-appropriate challenge to young adolescents to lean into these age-specific tendencies. Then, by the time they are in high school, older adolescents can advance into leadership roles as bureau members, mentoring and guiding younger students through processes and procedures. RSVP today and find out how your adolescent can become a changemaker on the global stage. More About MAP: MAP St. Louis aims to redefine secondary education through a Montessori lens by cultivating an adolescent microcosm rooted within the heart of a vibrant St. Louis neighborhood. We prioritize the holistic development of each student, guiding them on their individualized journey to achieve their full potential as actively engaged local and global citizens. Our vision is rooted in the conviction that adolescents—in the context of a stimulating, rigorous, and supportive environment—can learn, work, and contribute in significant ways. With an emphasis on student agency and partnership with adults, we strive to maintain a community constituted of creative, critically-thinking, and socially-conscious individuals who will enter adulthood prepared to create lives of purpose, value, and joy! The Bug Club (Wales) https://thebugclub.bandcamp.com/ The way you’re saying it, “prolific” isn’t the right word for The Bug Club. You’ve got to say it with the trademark Welsh lilt and pay due homage to this inimitable band’s origins in the renowned hit factory of Caldicot, South Wales. Do that, and you’re about right with how to summarize a group who’ve released ten singles, two albums, two EPs, three things nobody knew how to describe, and an album under a different band’s name, all since 2021, and while playing 200+ gigs a year. The Bug Club is Tilly Harris (Bass, Vocals) and Sam Willmett (Vocals, Guitar). Their first offering for the label is “Quality Pints,” a track that deals with the pressing concerns of any conscientious touring outfit, taking to heart the rule of the three R’s as penned by renowned fellow pints fan Mark E Smith of The Fall: repetition, repetition, repetition. If it’s that important, which it is, it’s worth saying again. OMNI (Atlanta, GA) https://omniatl.bandcamp.com/album/souvenir The music of Atlanta trio Omni has always swung fast and hit hard. And Souvenir, their fourth album and second for Sub Pop, packs their biggest punch yet. Inactive during the majority of the pandemic–the longest downtime in their history–they approached this recording with lots of pent-up energy. Guitarist Frankie Broyles, singer/bassist Philip Frobos, and drummer Chris Yonker converted their creative fuel into sharp, driving songs that land immediately, sporting chopping riffs, staccato beats, and wiry melodies. Why does Souvenir sound so sharp? Because each track is a compact unit that stands on its own, reflecting the time and place in which it was created. That’s why Omni called the album Souvenir: it’s a collection of audio objects, a stash of musical miniatures. Think of it as a family photo album, a binder of rare playing cards, a shoebox holding precious gems. 7pm - doors 8pm - show $15 adv / $20 dos All Ages Information Source: The Sinkhole | eventbrite

The Darts (US / Alternative Tentacles Records) https://linktr.ee/thedartsus THE DARTS formed in 2016 with the goal of making great all-girl garage-rock noise, see the world, and have a fab slumber party every night. The four women threw on vintage black slips, kicked off their shoes, and set out on the adventure. In the first year, the band put out two self-produced EPs and quickly signed with Dirty Water Records (UK), which then released the first full-length vinyl, Me.Ow (2017). Dirty Water then re-released the first two EPs as a second full-length vinyl, The Darts (2017). The band immediately went on tour with The Living End and Billie Joe Armstrong’s The Longshot, and soon found themselves on big European stages like Sjock- fest, Cosmic Trip, and Roots n Roses. In 2018, Jello Biafra signed The Darts to his label, Alternative Tentacles, released their first 7-inch, Bullet (2018) and then put out the third full-length record, I Like You But Not Like That (2018). The band was chosen to support their heroes The Damned on a US tour, performed on main stages at big US festivals like Punk Rock Bowling and The Bash, heard their songs on top tv shows like Peaky Blinders, got great reviews in Rolling Stone, and went to Mexico to play Hipnosis Fest. During the pandemic, Vox hosted an Instagram Live show which quickly got over fifty thousand views. In 2022, they released the EP Love Tsunami for Adrenalin Fix Mu-sic (France), took the new tunes on tour in the US and Europe and performed on KEXP Sessions. In 2023, Alternative Tentacles Records released The Darts’ fourth LP, Snake Oil, funded entirely by fans and co-produced by Jello Biafra himself. The band went on a massive European tour stretching across several months, with special European versions of Snake Oil and sold-out shows in Madrid, London, Cherbourg, and Edinburgh, plus appearances at famous fests Munster Raving Looney Party, Relache Fest, Festival Beat, Loungefest, and Muehlen Madness. The first pressings of Snake Oil sold out in both the US and Europe sold out in less than two months and second pressings were rushed out on both continents during the tour. While juggling the Snake Oil tours, Nicole kept writing songs, so Nicole, Meliza, Christina, and Mary Rose stopped in Los Angeles to record thirteen new tracks with legendary producer Mark Rains at Station House Studio. The result is The Darts’ fifth full-length record, Boomerang - an album of raw, gut-punch, hook-filled garage-psych-rock. The album is built on vintage Farfisa, Rhodes, Mellotron, Hammond and Wurlitzer pianos and organs, buzzsaw fuzz bass, twelve-string and distorted guitar layers, earth-shaking drums, and Rains’ signature magic vocal production. Crowds on the Snake Oil tour have already been singing along to the new singles “Pour Another,” “Hang Around,” and “Your Show”. With Nicole’s true-story lyrics included and album art by the band’s regular touring guitarist, Louise, Boomerang will be released by Alternative Tentacles Records worldwide on April 26, 2024. w/ Bruiser Queen https://bruiserqueen.bandcamp.com/ Frozen Headz https://open.spotify.com/album/4NLf5e9pTwzLsBo0cY1tjt?si=03pgB19YTxGBJRQPr9hpqQ 730pm - doors 8pm - show $15 adv / $18 dos All Ages Information Source: The Sinkhole | eventbrite

Individuals in the behavioral health field often face significant stressors in the workplace. While they often teach the people they serve skills to reduce stress, they do not always engage in those skills themselves. Emily Dreher, a Linehan Board Certified DBT Clinician, has been teaching Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills for over a decade and has found they have been beneficial not only in her clients’ lives but in her own as well. This training will teach the participants specific DBT skills that can reduce stress and improve quality of life in the workplace. This training is presented by Emily Dreher, LPC, DBT-LC. In this training, you will receive an overview of the underlying theories and procedures of Prolonged Exposure, identify individuals who may benefit from the treatment, and debunk myths about exposure treatment for PTSD.
