Join the full-day retreat, "Moving into Silence," for a transformative experience of timed optional sitting and walking practice, along with a question and answer session. Led by Buddhist Chaplain, Jillaurie Crane, this retreat will take place at the serene sanctuary of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Venice. Located at 1971 Pinebrook Road, Venice, this venue offers the perfect setting for inner reflection and growth.
For a fundraising event fee of $40, participants will not only gain profound insights but also enjoy a nourishing vegetarian lunch. Registration is mandatory to secure your spot. The retreat commences with a silent sitting and walking meditation until 10:30 AM. Following this, the regular Saturday Morning session will take place from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM, featuring meditation, a dharma talk, and open discussions for all to engage in.
At noon, a break will be provided for a delectable prepared vegetarian lunch. Afterward, the silent sitting and walking meditations will resume at 1 o'clock. Take advantage of the beautiful weather and indulge in outdoor walking meditation if you desire. As Jillaurie emphasizes, "A full day of practice brings a special centering and peace that resonates throughout the week."
This retreat holds a higher purpose as it is dedicated to promoting peace on our planet and seeking relief from the sufferings of war, famine, and environmental disasters. The closing moments will involve an Aspiration for the World, Compassion, and Dedication chants.
