This is our most interactive and in-depth stand-up comedy course.You will help you to master the art of storytelling, joke-writing - and then you'll present your set at a LIVE SHOW!Course OverviewMaster stand-up comedy and be a better storyteller on stage, at work, and socially! This course is extremely practical and will give you a lot of tools to use straight away. You will learn the science behind jokewriting, dive deep into your personal style of humour, learn a large number of joke structures and writing techniques, create your own set, practice with a mic, and learn the art to crowdwork. Best of all, you will grow your stage presence, confidence, and ability to wow others in a range of settings. After the course, you will be able to participate in our grad show at the Sydney Comedy School. At our DnD and LARP themed comedy class, your imagination is the only limit!Come along to meet new people and blend hilarious spontaneous storytelling with the epicness of roleplay.Whether you’re a seasoned Dungeon Master or a first-time adventurer, you'll sharpen your comedy skills by creating unique characters, weaving epic narratives, and navigating unexpected encounters. This will be 90-minutes of fantasy mayhem where you'll make everything up on the spot. We might be graced by the Axe of the Dwarvish Lords, a high elf wizard or even the mightiest of mighty... Jarnathan. After the class we will go to a nearby bar for drinks (it's optional - but most people come along!) Our classes typically have 20-30 people. About half are newcomers, and the rest are our returning regulars. Bio: Angelica is an up and coming artist in Australia and is thrilled to be making her Cabaret debut with her show “Loveless: A Cabaret”.Angelica made her professional musical theatre debut at the age of 18 in West Side Story (Opera Australia and GWB Entertainment) touring Australia, New Zealand and Germany. CATHERINE ALCORNAs an artist, Catherine has produced and performed in national and international tours of her own stage shows The Divine Miss Bette, Go Your Own Way: The Story of Christine McVie, Cathartic and 30 Something and is a regular fixture in Festival programs including Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Sydney Festival, Sydney Mardi Gras and as Ambassador for Noosa Long Weekend and Ballarat Cabaret Festival in 2014/15. During her appointment as Ambassador, both festivals broke attendance and box office records. As a host, Catherine Em Cees for renowned international brands including the TEDx Sydney live-streamed after party in 2021 and 2022 at the Sydney Opera House. She is the first artist to be invited back across consecutive years. In 2018 Catherine made her triumphant USA and Sydney Opera House debut in her most famous role as The Divine Miss Bette, winning her the Best Cabaret Production in the 2018 Broadway World Awards. She was a cast member of Australia's Jesus Christ Superstar and appeared on the Original Australian Cast Recording album in 1972 and she toured nationally with the Long Way to the Top concert tour. She has performed backup vocals for many acts such as INXS, Jimmy Barnes, Billy Thorpe, Powderfinger and Hugh Jackman and she provides the vocals for many advertising campaigns. She sings on a number of tracks on the 1985 Rebel: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. In 2004 she became a judge for the fourth season of Australia's Popstars, titled Popstars Live.
