Featured Events in Oregon City in May, 2025 (August Updated)

Join us for a morning of plant awareness. We’ll start in the classroom, discussing features of dogwood, honeysuckle, hydrangea, rose, and mint plant families and locally grown genera and species of plants. We’ll enjoy a stroll around the Oregon City campus looking at flowering plants and trees and how they’re used in our landscape. Approved for 3 CEU with LCB. Registration deadline is April 30. Course to be held May 10th meet in Clairmont Hall, C-138. Assess basic fitness for arduous wildland firefighting work through administration of the Work Capacity Test (WCT). Students walk a 3 mile course on the campus track wearing a 45 pound pack (provided). In order to pass, students need to complete the walk within 45 minutes. A WCT course “PASS” card indicating the student name, test date, and administrators signature will be received if they pass. Clackamas Community College is a recognized Region 6 MOU training provider. All fire classes sponsored by CCC meet or exceed federal NWCG standards. Upon successful course completion students will receive Certificates of Completion from Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon. Two-Day Tester Retrain/Renewal Course - 1.4 CEUs Approved by OESAC for 1.4 Drinking Water Relevant CEUs The two-day tester renewal course will provide ample time to practice your assembly testing skills on all approved backflow assemblies. Practice assemblies (both vertical and horizontal) with gauges and simulators will be available. Interactive clicker lecture with 10th edition assembly testing and trouble shooting procedures, followed by a written exam. Ample time provided for hands-on assembly practice. On day two hands-on testing will commence. Prerequisites: A High School Diploma or GED is not required to participate in this workshop. However, it is required when applying for a Backflow/Cross Connection license with the State of Oregon.
