Cultural Experiences
This course is designed to get you as involved as possible - this includes identifying, picking and tasting a range of wild species that will be found on the day. There will also be samples of wild food for everyone to get stuck into! The focus with all of our workshops is on the 4 'F's of Foraging: Fungi, Fruit, Flowers and Foliage . We aim for an array of these elements on every session we run (weather and season permitting!) Event sold out or can't make this date? Head to www.foragebox.co.uk/workshops or view our Eventbrite profile to browse all available sessions. What To Expect Our 'Taster' events are our shortest workshops, open to anyone looking for a brief but informative introduction to the wonderful world of foraging. No formal food is provided, but there will still be plenty of tasting along the way. DURATION: 2 hours We like to keep some elements a surprise for the day, but here is what you can expect from your foraging workshop: a short introduction regarding the safety and format of the day discussions around foraging tips, safety, ethics, etiquette, sustainability and the law a circular walking route taking in different growing environments around the site. Expect a route of around 2-3km predominantly on footpaths a closer look at edible wild species and any poisonous lookalikes by a professional forager a chance to slow the pace of modern life down, meet new people and immerse yourself in a soul-nourishing activity, reconnecting with nature and discovering new flavours small tasters of wild food - this may even include freshly-picked items straight from the wild. our workshops are run in a welcoming and informal fashion, where attendee questions and contributions are encouraged after the event, you will be sent a follow-up email containing a list of everything we found on the day. Please do not expect photos or descriptions in this email - it is purely a list for reference purposes, and we find it helps people do further research in their own time. Please note: as with most of our events, this is an educational experience and not a 'basket-filling' session . At the end of the session, there may be a small selection of our wild products and workshop vouchers available to purchase (card and cash accepted). This is a recent element of our events after enough attendees made enquiries about it - there is no pressure to buy anything having already bought tickets but sometimes people want a souvenir to take with them! Please speak to your tutor about this at the end. Who Is This Workshop For? These events are perfect for everyone - families, bushcrafters and dog-walkers alike! Nobody is made to feel out of their depth or silly for not knowing what certain things are, so these events suit absolute novices to more experienced hobby foragers alike. We strongly believe that foraging is for everyone , with all demographics welcome, regardless of age, ability, gender or ethnicity. Please read our FAQs further down the page to find out about dogs, children and mobility. IMPORTANT INFORMATION KIT LIST: What to bring with you Attendees are encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport to get to the destination. EXACT MEETING POINT: big grass verge to the east side of the car park Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/EAe5jdkmtHrhRinX9 What3Words: https://w3w.co/record.commutes.keys PARKING: There is plenty of parking but this may be subject to pay & display fees. Please park considerately. TOILETS: There are no toilets at this venue. Please arrive well in time for the start of the workshop, allowing extra time for the distance from your parked car to the meeting point and any toilet trips - we don't tend to wait for late-comers! Your foraging guide for the day should arrive on site at least an hour before the start and will start gathering the group together approximately 15 minutes before the official start time. If you cannot find your tutor around that time, there is a chance you are looking in the wrong place, so please check the event information for the exact location (not the postcode) Signage can sometimes be limited, so keep an eye out for anyone with a foraging basket! Minimum number of guests for this event to go ahead: 8 people PLEASE NOTE: We do not provide guests with a contact telephone number for your tutor. This is for privacy purposes but also because it is impractical to do so - your tutor simply wouldn't be able to take a call whilst with a group. If you need to get in contact, please use the email function via eventbrite or our website . Start getting excited! Doors will open 30 minutes before the show begins, meaning they will open at 7.15 pm. This will give you ample time to come into the space, find your seat and relax before the show begins at 8.00pm. What are the stage times? There is no support act, so the show will begin at 8.00pm sharp. There will be two sets with a 20 minute interval, with the event finishing around 9.20pm. What age is the performance suitable for? This performance is suitable for all ages, however we would recommend parental discretion. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. What are the seating arrangements? When you book your tickets, you can select which section you would like of unreserved seating. This gives you first-come-first-served access to that section of seating and does not guaratee you a particular seat. Is there disabled access? It is incredibly important to us that our performances are accessible to everyone that wants to come - therefore, we have ensured that Flamenco from Spain is wheelchair accessible. The restricted views seats are at the sides of the main nave, and can range from a great view to being behind a pillar. Hey, Derby! When was the last time you did something completely spontaneous? Our series groups together complete strangers for a fun day out. That's right, you sign up, and we book the restaurant. We know life can get busy. Don't forget to spend time making new friends! Don't do city life alone and build your community with us. This project is to host dinners in 200 cities to combat loneliness while supporting locally owned businesses. We are dedicating 25% of sales towards charity or GoFundMe pages at the end of each month. This micro-event is intended to be for 4 people maximum. Check out our feature in Eventbrite's 2025 TRNDS report about embracing the micro-event trend. How does it work? -After you register, you'll be emailed an introduction message including a quick questionnaire regarding age, dietary restrictions, hobbies, and interests that we use to select restaurants for the night's group. -At the end of the month, we'll share sales reports with attendees and detail how we are utilizing 25% of sales towards social good. *Your registration does not include your individual food and drink purchases. A paid ticket simply makes you more committed to actually showing up. *These outings are intended to help people make friends . These are not singles gatherings . *The pin on the map IS NOT the official location, but a placeholder Eventbrite gives for your city. *If you sign up the day of the gathering and do not get a message from us in time, simply email ermantourageimpact@gmail.com, request a refund, or please be open to joining us on another evening. Our vision is simple: we take the no gimmicks approach to networking. Anxiety levels and struggles with mental health are on the rise in children and young people. But there are ways that you can make a difference and help your children build more resilience and take steps towards healthier mental wellbeing. A Mind of Their Own is packed with simple and effective strategies for you to use at home, helping you to better understand what’s going on in your child’s head. Together with Katharine Hill and Mark Chester , featuring interviews with mental health professionals, Dr Rob Waller and Dr Kate Middleton, we’ll explore the science of the mind, and why children act and react the way they do. You’ll leave with: A greater understanding of the pressures affecting your child and the impact this can have on their mental wellbeing Tools to help your child build resilience that enables them to bounce back from challenges, grow in emotional strength and move forward in their character development Ways to talk to your child about positive body image An appreciation of how vital your child’s identity is and strategies to help them become confident in it Tips to help your child learn to deal with failure and criticism well The knowledge that negative thought patterns can be rewired to become more positive What to expect ... At Care for the Family, we have a dedicated team of people working hard to make sure all our events are high quality, professional and the best they can be. This event is well-researched, well-rehearsed, well-presented. Most importantly, it will be worth your time. Our speakers might know the research and have a breadth of knowledge on the subject, but mainly they’re parents and not perfect ones! We can’t promise that this evening will make you the world's best parent, but we can promise to lift you up and encourage you on your parenting journey. Arts Theater
Elizabethan theatre is flourishing. But will a brand-new Tudor musical romp, in which Good Queen Bess takes to the stage herself, be the making of this heroine or spell the beginning of her downfall? The stage is set for regicidal rivalries, devious dramatics, and plotting playwrights. Beset by misunderstandings and a script that…let’s just say…needs some work, this production promises to be largely historical, always hysterical. As the old saying goes…thy show must go-eth on! ★★★★★ – “So entertaining…laugh-out-loud funny” ★★★★★ – “Riotously fun. Hugely enjoyable” ★★★★★ – “The ultimate British theatrical experience” – Hastings Independent Press ★★★★★ – “Great fun for the whole family…my kids are still talking about it!” On Thursday 19th June , join us at Kedleston Hall . Bring your own cushions, and camping-chairs and join us on our 10th anniversary open-air adventure. Come prepared for the weather - the performance will continue come rain come shine! This performance is an outdoor performance. We recommend that you bring blankets/chairs/cushions etc. to sit on. Come prepared for the weather with warm coats and waterproofs etc, as the performance will continue come rain come shine! We ask that you don’t bring umbrellas as these can obscure the view for other people in the audience. 7pm start time, gates open from 6pm. The performance will last approximately 100 minutes (+ a 20 minute interval). Picnics are welcome at this venue. NB This event is wheelchair accessible – with step free access across the grass. Kedleston Hall is a no smoking site. No dogs allowed. We recommend booking tickets for this performance online in advance.
