About Shasta Land Trust
Since 1998, the Shasta Land Trust has conserved over 61,000 acres of wildlife habitat, forest, open space, agricultural, and recreational land, and 151 miles of waterways protected from shoreline development.
As an accredited land trust, SLT has worked with willing landowners, partners, local communities, and donors to achieve meaningful and lasting conservation of local lands.
Conserved land provides many benefits to our community.
Clean drinking water, fresh air, strong local food networks, and abundant recreational opportunities
are just a few of the benefits seen in our lifetime, with an immeasurable impact on future generations. These lands are necessary for our survival, from the water we drink, to the food we eat. By protecting our region rich with freshwater rivers, lakes, forests, and working ranches and farms, we can ensure a more resilient, healthy, and inhabitable future.
Thank you to our Sponsors!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors and volunteers who make the Wildways program possible. All proceeds from our Wildways Roots & Rhtyhm Festival will benefit local land conservation.

Falkirk
Wildflower ID
This workshop is suitable for anyone who can tell a buttercup from a daisy. After being introduced to some basic terms and concepts, participants will be shown how they can place a given plant into its correct family. Only then will they try to identify it as a particular species.
You will be given advice on how to choose and use a field guide, and how to follow simple keys. All the work will be hands-on, with fresh material indoors and growing plants outdoors, throughout the day.
Participants will receive a copy of Faith's Wildflower Families guide book (rrp £6.99) to take home.
Instructor
- Faith Anstey has been running workshops for the BSBI for seven years in plant ID for beginners and improvers. In connection with these, she has produced several small books on plant families, grasses, sedges etc. These can be used with the appropriate field guide to make the identification of common species quicker and easier than by traditional methods.

Notepad & pen & camera. If you have your own hand lens & guide books then bring them along. We recommend the Collins Wildflower Guide or The Wild Flower Key by Francis Rose.
