This interactive workshop course is apt for participants working in and with corporate treasuries and need to keep pace with developments in treasury risk management and technological advancements as well as growing pressures of regulatory, governance and compliance issues. It engages the participants in examining the challenges and issues of risk management and governance and drives forth the case that managing risks holistically with a proper risk culture and framework is imperative to the survival of the treasury entity as much as the corporate institution Overview The corporate treasury function is no longer just dealing with the routine daily cash flows and working capital requirements of the entity. Over and above these traditional roles, the corporate treasurer as a value agent is now involved in strategic planning and striking winning relationships with banks and other agents in sourcing and applying funds as well as a proactive business partner with the business units within the enterprise. This enhanced and upgraded role of the corporate treasurer comes at a time when uncertainties pre-dominate not just the financial marketplace but also the way in which business activities are being reshaped with exponential technological advances. Intended to be edu-training, the course offers a pragmatic understanding of corporate treasury risk management with less quan- toxication and more qualitative rationalization. Upon completion of course, participants will be able to: take hold of increasingly new demands of the corporate treasury function in the wake of the Global Financial Crisis and technological advancements and attendant new risks (digitization, block chain, cryptocurrency evolution, cyber-security concerns) Appreciate the challenges faced by the corporate treasury to provide a more strategic role to the other units in the organization and in building rapport with banking and capital market partners Draw lessons from the financial crisis and other risk "mishaps" so to improve the risk management culture and discipline in the light of new regulatory, governance, compliance and technological pressures Take a strategic role in addressing financial (interest rate, FX, equity and commodity) risks confronting the corporation Who should attend All individuals who want to improve their value-adding effectiveness to the corporate treasury's success and acquire mastery of sound risk management practices should attend this course CFOs, treasurers and Chief Accountants, head of business units, advisers and business consultants Corporate relationship managers from financial institutions including banks, insurance and asset management companies Non-finance professionals from sales, marketing, human resources, operations, investor relations, production, legal departments and technology professionals seeking an understanding of how corporate treasuries work Any other professional who is committed to the drive for better (and value add) corporate treasury risk management Methodology Non-theoretical methodology which includes interactive discussions, case studies, interactive games and assignments to understand the concepts and their applicability Trainer All our trainers are carefully chosen by us and possess a rich and vast experience in the financial sector. Driving Successful Agentic AI Use Cases Through a Robust and Trusted Data Foundation Singapore stands at the forefront of public sector AI adoption, setting the pace for the region – and beyond. Strategic early investments in digital infrastructure, robust data governance and cutting-edge AI capabilities have created a powerful launchpad for responsible innovation.  A new frontier is emerging – Agentic AI. Unlike traditional models that assist in isolated tasks, Agentic AI systems are built to operate with autonomy. This next wave of intelligence has the potential to redefine how governments function, especially in domains that demand nuanced judgment, policy interpretation or real-time responsiveness. Singapore is beginning to explore this space with curiosity and intent – not to replace humans, but to augment their capabilities in a rapidly evolving environment.  Early use cases are taking shape. Yet such progress is only possible when agents are built on high-quality, contextual data. Feeding AI agents with accurate, well-structured information ensures they operate as intended – aligned with policy objectives, sensitive to nuance and capable of adapting to real-world complexity.  The principle is clear: quality in, quality out. The effectiveness of Agentic AI hinges on the integrity of its inputs. Well-labelled, timely, and contextually relevant data doesn’t just improve performance – it determines whether agents are helpful or harmful, insightful or inaccurate. Singapore’s strong foundation in data governance provides the confidence to test and iterate safely, ensuring that outcomes are explainable, traceable and aligned with public intent.  Already, tangible wins are emerging. AI agents are demonstrating their value in orchestrating complex processes, identifying policy bottlenecks, accelerating approvals, and even providing decision support in sensitive, time-bound scenarios. These successes are not one-size-fits-all; they are the result of rigorous exploration into what works, under what conditions, and where human oversight remains essential.  As Singapore deepens its exploration of Agentic AI, broader questions emerge – not only about the capabilities of these systems but about their role in advancing the public good. The challenge is no longer purely technical; it is strategic, ethical and institutional.   What kinds of decisions should be delegated to autonomous systems? How can accountability be embedded in agents that operate with minimal oversight? And as these systems become more capable, how can institutions ensure they remain focused on delivering tangible outcomes that matter to citizens?  The success of Agentic AI will not be defined by novelty alone, but by the ability to achieve meaningful use cases at scale – safely, reliably and in alignment with public intent. Real progress lies in building systems that not only function autonomously but also deliver measurable value in complex, real-world conditions.  Now is the time to move with intent – - to test boldly, govern wisely and shape the future of Agentic AI from the front.  Strategic Agentic AI Deployment for Real Outcomes   Strategic deployment of Agentic AI begins with clear, outcome-driven objectives – aligning each use case to specific public sector needs. By focusing on measurable impact rather than experimentation alone, agencies can ensure that autonomous systems deliver real value where it matters most.   AI-Powered Insights for Proactive Governance   Agentic AI holds the potential to transform complex workflows by autonomously coordinating tasks, adapting to real-time inputs, and reducing manual intervention. Unlocking this capability requires not just technical readiness, but thoughtful integration into existing systems and processes to maximise efficiency and scalability.  Robust, AI-Optimised Data Foundation for Seamless Integration   A robust, AI-optimised data foundation is critical to enabling seamless integration and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of Agentic AI systems. By establishing comprehensive data governance frameworks and prioritising data integrity, public sector organisations can unlock the full potential of AI, driving impactful and efficient outcomes across various domains.  The session will allow delegates to: EXPLORE the potential of Agentic AI to autonomously enhance governance  FOCUS ON achieving scalable, measurable use cases through Agentic AI  PRIORITISE high-quality to ensure Agentic AI systems perform accurately and effectively  PILOT Agentic AI use cases with strategic intent while maintaining robust governance frameworks  TACKLE the strategic, ethical, and institutional questions surrounding Agentic AI deployment  Who should attend: Chief Information Officers  Chief Data Officers  Chief Transformation Officers  Chief Technology Officers  Chief Digital Officers  Chief Analytics Officers  Chief Innovation Officers  Directors and Heads of Analytics and Information Management  Directors and Heads of Applications  Directors and Heads of Cloud Architecture Directors and Heads of Data Directors and Heads of Technology Capabilities and Innovation Heads of Data Science Information Source: OpenGov Asia | eventbrite

Leverage GenAI to Streamline Operations, Enhance Service and Maximise Compliance In an era where digital convenience defines expectations, the way organisations in Singapore engage with customers is undergoing a profound transformation. Once a back-office support function, the contact centre is now becoming a frontline enabler of strategic value. Whether it’s a government agency assisting a citizen with a healthcare inquiry or a retail brand helping a customer with a purchase, the demand for responsive, empathetic and seamless service is non-negotiable. As organisations adapt to a more connected world, many contact centres are held back by outdated systems. Agents juggle legacy tools, disconnected platforms and manual processes while navigating complex data regulations. This leads to slower response times, inconsistent service quality, rising agent burnout and ultimately, a decline in satisfaction for customers. Such an environment begs the question: How can organisations modernise their contact centres to meet rising expectations, ensure compliance and empower agents without overhauling their entire infrastructure? Digital Contact Centres Powered by AI Forward-thinking organisations are turning to digital contact centres—intelligent, AI-powered platforms that unify communication channels, data and workflows into a single, seamless interface. Whether customers call a hotline or customers message on social media, these intelligent platforms enable fast, personalised support. Agents access real-time info to deliver consistent, high-quality service across all channels. The GenAI Advantage At the heart of this transformation is Generative AI. GenAI Assistants go beyond traditional bots as they understand sentiment, intent and context. They transcribe conversations, summarise interactions, recommend responses and support agents with contextual coaching. This results in fewer screens, fewer clicks and a massive reduction in cognitive load. Whether supporting a citizen applying for government aid or assisting a customer with a service request, GenAI becomes a digital co-pilot, enabling agents to focus on what truly matters: human connection. Improving Performance Through AI-Powered Automation With mundane tasks like note-taking, data entry and knowledge retrieval automated by GenAI, agents are empowered to deliver more meaningful service. They gain immediate access to full interaction histories, AI-recommended next steps and actionable insights. In the public sector, this translates into faster resolution times and more consistent citizen experiences. In the private sector, it drives customer satisfaction, loyalty and business growth while making every interaction smarter and more strategic. Improving Performance Through AI-Powered Automation In Singapore’s tightly regulated landscape, GenAI Compliance Assistants offer the accuracy and reliability that organisations need. According to NCS, these AI-powered tools integrate smoothly into existing systems, expanding call monitoring from just 5% to 10% to full coverage. They also cut compliance-related manhours by up to 90% and eliminated the usual 3–6 month review delays, enabling faster and more efficient compliance management. These tools proactively monitor live conversations for policy adherence and flag sensitive data handling. They ensure approved language is used, minimise human error, streamline audits, and uphold organisational integrity through continuous, automated compliance. Join the OpenGov Breakfast Insight to explore how innovative technologies are reshaping customer engagement and service delivery in Singapore. Discover how AI, data-driven personalisation strategies and seamless multi-channel platforms are revolutionising the delivery of personalised services in the private sector while ensuring privacy, security and operational efficiency. This session will allow delegates to: • EXPLORE how digital contact centres are redefining service delivery across sectors. • LEARN how AI-driven solutions like GenAI Assistants can transform agent productivity and customer satisfaction • DISCOVER how you can address compliance challenges and reduce the risks of human error in your contact centre operations. • GAIN insights into the future of customer services, focusing on privacy, security and operational efficiency. Who should attend: • Chief Customer Officer • Chief Digital Officers • Chief Information Officers • Chief Innovation Officers • Chief Operating Officers • Chief Technology Officers • Chief Transformation Officers • Directors and Heads of Technology Capabilities and Innovation • Directors and Heads of Technology, Strategy and Policy • Head of Customer Experience • Head of Operations Information Source: OpenGov Asia | eventbrite

Supercharging Digital Evolution with AI, Quantum, and Intelligent Data As artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing continue to evolve, organisations must navigate a landscape where data quality directly impacts technological advancements. Latest findings reveal that 58% of decision-makers frequently rely on inaccurate data, and 73% believe their data strategies require an overhaul. In this era of digital transformation, AI and quantum computing hold immense potential to drive efficiency, enhance security, and optimise decision-making - but without high-quality data as a foundation, these technologies risk amplifying existing inefficiencies rather than solving them. The convergence of AI and quantum presents a unique opportunity to redefine data strategies across industries. Traditional computing methods are increasingly inadequate for managing the vast, complex datasets required for AI-driven analytics and quantum simulations. Poor data quality is already costing organisations time and resources, with 60% of leaders citing delays in accessing the data they need for critical decisions. By leveraging quantum computing’s unparalleled processing power and AI’s ability to automate and analyse, both public institutions and private enterprises can overcome these bottlenecks, ensuring data-driven decisions are accurate, timely, and actionable. However, adopting AI and quantum computing isn’t just about technology - it’s about fostering a data-centric approach that integrates robust governance frameworks, scalable infrastructure, and a workforce skilled in AI-Quantum applications. The Singapore government’s push towards AI-Quantum innovation, including initiatives such as the National Quantum Strategy , underscores the growing urgency for organisations to enhance data integrity, cybersecurity, and digital resilience. To stay ahead, leaders across industries must carefully determine when and how to invest in AI-Quantum technologies to maximise their impact. At the same time, ensuring high-quality data as the foundation for AI and quantum applications is critical to extracting real value rather than being hindered by inaccurate or incomplete information. Future-proofing workforce capabilities and digital infrastructure is equally vital, as AI-Quantum adoption demands expertise, adaptability, and a clear strategic roadmap. As AI and quantum computing reshape industries, organisations that successfully integrate data precision, AI intelligence, and quantum speed will lead the next phase of digital transformation - ensuring resilience, agility, and a competitive edge in an increasingly complex digital economy. OpenGov Asia is pleased to extend an invitation to an exclusive OpenGov Event focused on the transformative impact of AI and quantum computing in revolutionising data strategies, enhancing security, and driving digital innovation. This invitation-only session will explore how organisations across industries can prepare for AI-Quantum-driven transformation by improving data quality, optimising infrastructure, and strengthening governance frameworks. As both public institutions and private enterprises navigate the complexities of AI expansion, quantum adoption, and regulatory challenges, leveraging these technologies effectively will be critical to ensuring resilience, efficiency, and sustained growth in an increasingly complex digital ecosystem. To truly engage your audience, foster creativity, and drive meaningful outcomes, you need to harness the power of visual facilitation. The Visual Facilitation Lab is a hands-on, two-day workshop designed to equip facilitators, trainers, coaches, consultants, and researchers with the skills and tools to make your sessions more impactful, memorable, and effective. Imagine your meetings delivering not just results, but real change—where every participant is engaged, ideas flow freely, and decisions are made with clarity and confidence. With over 20 years of experience in visual facilitation, we will guide you through the essential techniques to bring your sessions to life, ensuring your messages are not only seen but remembered and acted upon. Is this for you? If you lead teams, design processes, or facilitate meetings where communication and collaboration are key, this workshop is for you. Are you tired of the same old meetings where engagement is low and outcomes are vague? Do you want to stand out as a facilitator or trainer who inspires action and innovation? The Visual Facilitation Lab is your gateway to creating a dynamic environment where ideas come alive, and participants leave with a clear vision and a concrete plan. Why Visual Facilitation? Research shows that 85% of people are visual learners, yet most facilitators rely heavily on verbal or text-based communication. This disconnect can lead to misunderstandings, disengagement, and missed opportunities. By integrating visual tools into your facilitation, you can significantly increase participant engagement, improve information retention, and drive collaborative problem-solving. Visual facilitation allows you to: ✅ Make abstract ideas tangible and actionable. ✅ Foster a culture of innovation and creativity. ✅ Enhance communication clarity across diverse teams. ✅ Create tangible takeaways that reinforce commitments and actions. Don’t let outdated methods hold you back. The cost of doing things the same way is too high—missed opportunities, disengaged teams, and lackluster results. By embracing visual facilitation, you can transform the way you work, leading to better outcomes and more satisfied clients. Day 1: Mastering Visual Fundamentals Kickstart your journey into visual facilitation by mastering the core principles of visual thinking and communication. By the end of Day 1, you will have a strong visual vocabulary, the ability to generate ideas visually, and the confidence to present your concepts with clarity and impact. Key Outcomes: ✅ Visual Vocabulary Development : Learn how to quickly and effectively generate ideas and convey them visually, enhancing your communication skills. ✅ Creative Flipcharts: Design and create engaging visual flipcharts tailored to your training or meeting needs. ✅ Clear Lettering & Layout : Master the art of clear, legible lettering and effective layout design for visual presentations. ✅ Foundations of Visual Thinking : Understand and apply the fundamental tools and techniques of visual thinking, empowering you to listen, synthesize, and present ideas visually. ✅ Whole-Brain Communication : Develop a 'whole-brain' approach to communication by combining images, words, and colors to create meaningful and memorable messages. ✅ Visual Workshop Activities : Engage in practical exercises to solidify your skills, including specialized templates and tools for group learning and facilitation. Day 2: Visual Facilitation Best Practices Building on the skills acquired in Day 1, Day 2 delves into the art of visual facilitation, equipping you with the tools to energize group processes, enhance decision-making, and drive engagement using visuals. You will leave with a comprehensive toolkit to apply visual methods in various business settings. Key Outcomes: ✅ Visual Facilitation Integration : Seamlessly integrate visual recording skills into your facilitation practice, enhancing group communication and engagement. ✅ Designing with Visuals : Learn how to design and facilitate meetings, trainings, and workshops with powerful visual tools that drive participation and results. ✅ Dynamic Facilitation Tools : Expand your facilitator toolkit with a range of visual methods for agenda design, participant check-ins, action planning, decision-making, and strategic visioning. ✅ Metaphors & Visuals : Develop and apply metaphors and visuals to support facilitation objectives, making complex concepts more accessible and engaging. ✅ Collaborative Drawing : Boost problem-solving and idea generation by involving participants in collaborative drawing activities. ✅ Facilitating with Visuals : Experience hands-on practice in facilitating groups and teams using visual tools, ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard and ideas are brought to life. Join Our Creative Community By participating in the Visual Facilitation Lab, you become part of a vibrant community of professionals dedicated to transforming the way we communicate and collaborate. You'll gain not just skills, but connections with like-minded individuals who are committed to driving change through visual thinking. Embedding Quality Engineering at the Heart of Agile Transformation In today’s digitally charged environment, innovation no longer moves in linear cycles - it evolves continuously, fuelled by agile development, cloud-native services, and increasingly AI-driven architectures. As agencies rapidly modernise, pressure to deliver seamless, resilient digital experiences at unprecedented speed, has never been greater. But speed alone is not a competitive advantage if quality is compromised.  As agile development and cloud-native architectures take root across Southeast Asia, especially in high-expectation markets like Singapore, software testing has become more than a technical process - it is now a business imperative. Traditionally viewed as a bottleneck, testing must evolve into a strategic pillar of quality engineering: integrated, intelligent, and future-ready.  AI-powered test automation is redefining the boundaries of what’s possible. By embedding AI throughout the software delivery lifecycle - from test creation and risk-based prioritisation to release validation and monitoring - organisations can dramatically reduce time to market while strengthening software quality. These capabilities are no longer optional; they are essential for enabling predictive quality, reducing test maintenance, and proactively managing risk across complex, hybrid IT environments.  The shift from reactive quality control to proactive quality intelligence requires a reimagining of testing strategies. Today’s quality engineering must support continuous delivery pipelines, anticipate system failures, validate third-party integrations, and align with real-world user behaviours. With generative AI now entering the quality engineering space, even non-technical stakeholders can participate in testing cycles, democratising access and scaling innovation.  In Singapore’s Smart Nation ecosystem, where seamless, secure, and citizen-centric services are a national priority, these capabilities are critical. Forward-thinking agencies must embed intelligent testing at every level - turning it from a fragmented afterthought into a continuous, AI-augmented engine of resilience and trust.  The session will allow delegates to: EMBED AI-powered test automation into DevOps and agile delivery pipelines to drive modern quality engineering, enabling faster innovation while proactively managing risk in complex public sector environments. AUTOMATE end-to-end quality processes to ensure consistent application performance and resilience across hybrid, cloud-native, and legacy systems - crucial for delivering secure, citizen-centric digital services. ESTABLISH intelligent test governance frameworks that align with public sector priorities around security, compliance, and agility - ensuring strategic oversight, transparency, and accountability at every stage. SCALE quality engineering practices across departments and digital initiatives to boost operational confidence, improve delivery velocity, and embed resilience into the core of government transformation efforts. Our neighbourhoods thrive because of the dedication and unwavering commitment of these hardworking individuals. Make a trip to our neighbourhoods during MCF2025 and express our gratitude to the heartland heroes! About your Guide May Hui is a passionate volunteer whose work bridges two very different worlds—Singapore’s museums and its prisons. Whether she’s leading a heritage tour or sitting across from an inmate nearing release, May brings with her the same quiet conviction: that stories can heal, educate, and empower. As a trained docent at the Indian Heritage Centre, Malay Heritage Centre, and Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, May guides visitors through the rich histories of Singapore’s diverse communities. She believes that heritage is not just something to be admired behind glass—but something that should be felt, questioned, and carried forward. Her tours are rich with personal stories, often weaving in the lives of lesser-known figures who shaped Singapore’s cultural fabric, from the kampongs of Joo Chiat to the music of Zubir Said. Beyond the museum walls, May volunteers with the Singapore After-Care Association (SACA), mentoring inmates who are preparing to return to society. Here, her empathy and insight are deeply valued. She sees rehabilitation not just as a process of reintegration, but as an awakening—helping individuals reclaim a sense of dignity and possibility. “We can unlock the prisons of the mind,” she says, “long before physical freedom comes.” What unites May’s roles is a deep belief in the power of human connection. She sees both museum visitors and inmates not as passive recipients of information, but as people in search of meaning, identity, and belonging. Through storytelling, listening, and encouragement, she helps others discover not just what is in the past—but what might still lie ahead. Who should come? Cultural Experiences
What to Expect At the Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh flagship store on Victoria Street, participants can look forward to a warm and engaging introduction to one of Singapore’s most beloved traditional treats. The session begins with a behind-the-scenes look at Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh’s history—how Ji Xiang was founded in 1988 and blossomed into a cherished family-run brand known for its lovingly handmade kuehs. You’ll learn about the cultural significance of ang ku kueh (red turtle cake), traditionally associated with blessings of longevity and prosperity, as well as ang ee, the egg-shaped version often gifted during celebrations and milestones. A key distinction between these two kuehs lies in their symbolism. In Chinese culture, particularly during a baby’s first month celebrations (满月 or man yue), Ang Ku Kueh represents a baby girl, while Ang Ee represents a baby boy. The Ang Ku Kueh is typically a flat, tortoise-shaped kueh, symbolising longevity and protection, while the Ang Ee is often pointed or triangular in shape, representing a boy’s future journey. Both are often given out as gifts, along with red eggs, to announce the birth of a baby to family and friends. This experience is especially meaningful in the context of the festival’s theme, My First Journeys, as ang ku kueh is often used to mark a baby’s first month, symbolising good health and a blessed start in life. These kuehs are not just delicious—they are edible expressions of love, hope, and tradition passed from one generation to the next. A highlight of the programme includes a special demonstration of Ka Ta Kueh (脚踏粿), also known as Big Ang Ku Kueh. Measuring approximately 12cm x 10cm, these large kuehs are part of a traditional Chinese custom where a baby steps on a pair of kuehs that have first been offered to the gods. After being blessed, the baby is gently assisted in stepping on the kuehs before putting on a new pair of shoes. This symbolic act expresses the family’s wishes for the child’s smooth and successful journey through life. Watching a Ka Ta Kueh demonstration offers a rare glimpse into this beautiful and lesser-known ritual that blends food, family, and hope for the future. Following the demonstration, participants will take part in a hands-on workshop to prepare both ang ku kueh and ang ee from scratch. From wrapping the fillings and pressing each kueh into its mould, the process reveals the care and heritage behind each bite. Whether you’re revisiting a childhood favourite or discovering these colourful pastries for the first time, this session at Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh promises a delicious and meaningful journey through tradition, memory, and new beginnings. About Meet My Craftsman From the soothing touch of a traditional Javanese masseuse helping a new mother regain her strength, to the gentle folds of a child’s first saree, or the lovingly hand-stitched chouchou, our constant companion from childhood—our first journeys through life are often accompanied by the care and craftsmanship of those who make these moments tangible. Meet My Craftsman is a celebration of the crafts, rites, and rituals that mark the beginning of life. On the theme of My First Journeys, this programme explores the many ways communities across Singapore commemorate milestones such as the birth of a child, the first month, first year, or first rite of passage. These early steps are steeped in meaning—often marked with traditional foods, handmade tokens, and symbolic objects that express hope, protection, and joy. From practical postpartum traditions like Javanese massage and herbal care, to edible celebrations like Ang Ku Kueh (red tortoise cake given during a baby’s first month) and Yi Bua (a steamed coconut glutinous rice dumpling from the Hainanese community), each object or treat carries with it a deeper cultural resonance. Clothing, too, becomes a marker of growth and identity—like the physical and symbolic meaning of sarees in the Indian community, handmade and passed down through generations. Many of these traditional ways of welcoming and celebrating new life are fading in today’s fast-paced world. Through demonstrations, conversations, and hands-on experiences, Meet My Craftsman shines a spotlight on the artisans and practitioners who keep these customs alive. Join us as we meet the craftspeople who have helped generations begin their life journeys with care, meaning, and beauty. Slow down be reminded of the objects, gestures, and traditions that make our earliest memories so deeply treasured. About the Organisation Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh was first opened in 1988 by husband and wife, Mr. Toh Poh Seek and Mdm. Toh Bong Yeo at 1 Everton Park, dreaming of selling one million Ang Ku Kuehs. Today, Mr. and Mrs Toh have long surpassed their dream and Everton Park now sees thousands of customers daily. Despite the popularity, Mr. and Mrs Toh still insists that Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh still makes each and every one of our delicious Kuehs by hand, with lots of love, for you to enjoy. In 2021, Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh launched a new flagship store at 235 Victoria Street, helmed personally by Mr Toh's younger son, Mr. Kelvin Toh. Just like the thin skin of our Kuehs, we continue to humbly bring the same goodness with the biggest feelings for you in a brand new location. Meet your Host Kelvin Toh is the second-generation co-owner of Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh, a beloved family-run business that has been hand-making traditional red tortoise cakes since 1988. Driven by a deep respect for his parents’ legacy and a passion for preserving this heritage craft, Kelvin is committed to keeping Ang Ku Kueh relevant for new generations. Through innovation and thoughtful reinvention, he continues to uphold the art of handmade kueh while adapting to modern tastes—ensuring that this time-honoured tradition lives on. Who should come? Objectives NUS is working towards a vision of a Campus in Tropical Rainforest , and NUS Toddycats is helping to restore the green forest spine of the Kent Ridge Campus! Kent Ridge functions as an important wildlife habitat in the Southern Ridges. With careful selection, planting and maintenance of appropriate species of trees, we aim to enhance the habitat quality and connectivity of our Kent Ridge campus. The habitat enrichment work will overcome natural regeneration barriers such as dispersal limitation and will also be able to extend the forests into the heart of the campus. Working closely with University Campus Infrastructure (UCI) as we pursue restoration efforts in Kent Ridge Forest, we will be planting a mix of early to late successional native tree species which are suited to ridge habitat. These forest plots will be used to illustrate restoration ecology and the integration of forests into an urban landscape. This project is part of NUS’ target of planting 100,000 trees on campus by 2030, and will contribute towards Singapore’s One Million Tree Movement. Follow the scent of frying vadai, the clinking of cleavers, and the murmur of morning trade as we take you behind the scenes of wet market stalls and beloved hawker gems that keep Chinatown energised. Watch the masters at work; the tofu uncle arranging trays of silky bean curd; and the vegetable aunties sorting greens still dewy from the morning haul. Smell the unmistakable fragrance of freshly steamed bak chang, savour a warm bite of traditional dim sum just as it leaves the bamboo steamer, and peek into the colourful displays of a time-honoured sweet shop keeping old-school treats alive. You’ll see just how much precision, hustle, and heart go into the simplest plate of food. And it’s not just about ingredients—it’s about people. From the cheerful vadai seller who’s been frying golden, spiced snacks since the '80s to the fruit stall aunty who can tell a good melon by sound alone, you’ll meet the real faces behind your favourite bites. With every stop, you’ll uncover the unglamorous but deeply inspiring routines that power Singapore’s food culture—one tofu block, one bak chang, one steamer basket at a time. Family Events
This workshop is designed to help parents: • Identify their present parenting styles • Adjust unhealthy habits • Grow towards becoming a parent-coach The workshop will be interactive, with teaching, reflections, and scenario-based applications, so parents can immediately put what they learn into practice. Trainers' Bio Elvin and Esther Foong are the founders of The Treasure Box Singapore, a training and resourcing company that aims to help families grow closer to each other and to God. As full-time itinerant ministers, they believe that a parent's first ministry is in the home, and their first disciples are their own kids. Their vision is for a generation of spiritually healthy families to rise up and display Jesus' love to a lost and broken world. Together with other like-minded parents, they also co-founded SGFamilies, a ground-up movement that aims to raise wholesome generations together. Elvin has a heart to see the next generation grow in biblical literacy and their understanding of who the God of the Bible is. To equip himself to do that, he is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Singapore Bible College. Esther is passionate about values-inculcation and character development in children and sees great importance in the role of parents in this aspect. She also serves as a part-time lecturer at NIE, supervising trainee teachers for their teaching practicum, and sits on the advisory committee for two local primary schools. Elvin and Esther have been married for almost 17 years and are proud parents of two wonderful children—Nathan (14) and Phoebe (12). Information Source: Galilee Bible-Presbyterian Church | eventbrite
