rie
's musical style is rooted in the
Django Reinhardt
tradition of 1930's French gypsy jazz and she has enchanted audiences around the world with the gentle clarity of her voice and the joie de vie style that she brings to songs from the likes of Edith Piaf and Charles Trenet.
She has released 10 albums over the last nine years and has accrued over 80 million YouTube views.
Based in New York, she has become a firm favourite on the vintage jazz scene there and makes regular tours of the USA and increasingly tours in Europe. Last year she came to Norfolk as part of her first tour in the U.K. for several years and we are pleased to welcome her back this May.
Tatiana was born in Switzerland and grew up surrounded by music. She quickly developed a fascination with gypsy swing jazz which has formed the basis of the successful career she enjoys today. After leaving school an interest in archaeologyled Tatiana to study early medieval history at La Sorbonne in Paris and she may in fact have become an archaeologist but an opportunity arose to move to New York where she founded the successful Avalon Jazz Band thus ensuring her musical destiny. In 2022 she co-wrote and starred in the arthouse film Swing Rendez-vous and last year saw the premier in Switzerland of her first opera Eden Park.
She will be joined in Cley by her Djangology quartet comprising:
