Basel documents the gradual erasure of Masafer Yatta, as soldiers destroy the homes of families — the largest single act of forced transfer ever carried out in the occupied West Bank. He crosses paths with Yuval Abraham, an Israeli journalist who joins his struggle, and for over half a decade they fight against the expulsion while growing closer. Their complex bond is haunted by the extreme inequality between them: Basel, living under a brutal military occupation, and Yuval, unrestricted and free. This film, by a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four young activists, was co-created during the darkest, most terrifying times in the region, as an act of creative resistance to Apartheid and a search for a path toward equality and justice. Aurora Film Society Since 2018, the Aurora Film Society (AFS) has been broadening our community’s collective horizons by screening great movies together. When we make our film selections, we are looking for movies that our subscribers would not normally have had a chance to see, award-winning films, or films with some historical significance. As a 501(c)(3), we do not take any political stance. However, we are excited to have the opportunity to show a film that is both Oscar-winning and not readily available for viewing as a special event for the community. We screen our regular offerings every third Wednesday of the month at The Venue. To see our current schedule & past movies, visit aurorafilmsociety.org For questions and/or to subscribe, please email aurorafilmsociety@gmail.com Palestine Activism Collective The Palestine Activism Collective (PAC) is a diverse and intergenerational body of community organizers and activists located across the western Chicago suburbs. We are committed to taking direct action to primarily stop the genocide in Gaza, end all military funding to Israel, and struggle toward total liberation and self-determination for the Palestinian people, as well as for our local communities. We are dedicated to a variety of strategies including organizing our own actions, as well as elevating and supporting the actions of other local groups. The Venue is proud to present KASHMIR - The Led Zeppelin Show on Saturday, April 26th . DOORS = 7pm | SHOW = 8pm ~ Advance Admission ~ Premium Reserved Seating = $25 General Admission = $20 ~ Day of Show ~ Additional Door Charge = $5 ~~~~~~~~~~ ⭐ KASHMIR - The Led Zeppelin Show ⭐ KASHMIR was formed in late 2001, after guitarist Frank Livingston decided to form a show based on substance and feel rather than just fitting the suit. " It is important to look the part, but way too often tribute bands seem to forget that without the sound, the look does nothing ". KASHMIR is a very entertaining show bringing only the best of LED ZEPPELIN to a family oriented event. KASHMIR seeks to re-create the experience of a 70's Zeppelin show utilizing authentic vintage stage gear, costumes, and special effects , with great attention to detail in a non pretentious way. But most importantly, KASHMIR does not take liberties on improving the music. Led Zeppelin should be played as it was using only the equipment of the era, and should be reproduced dead on with great respect and admiration. " It's not about us, it's about Led Zeppelin " . KASHMIR performs Led Zeppelin's entire catalog including Led's Zeppelin's classic movie, The Song Remains The Same . ~~~~~~~~~~ The Venue is brought to you by Fox Valley Music Foundation , dedicated to local music awareness, education and preservation. Find out more at themusicvenue.org ~ TICKETS: We strongly recommend that you avoid buying tickets for our shows from any third parties. We will be unable to honor tickets purchased anywhere other than our website through Eventbrite or at our Box Office. ~~~~~~~~~~ Information Source: The Venue Aurora | eventbrite
