Event guidelines: Additional copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event. Each ticket includes a copy of the book. All of the books will be pre-signed by the author. Home address is collected for contact tracing purposes; it will not be used otherwise. The event will also be livestreamed for free on YouTube: https://youtube.com/live/TBXG5mN-1LA As a reminder: If you are not feeling well, please do not come to the event, even if you have a ticket; email us and we'll work it out. If you have any questions regarding these guidelines or to request accessibility accommodations, please contact eventhelp@booksaremagic.net. GrossyPelosi is famously the hostess with the mostest—now it’s your turn to invite everyone in. Dan Pelosi believes every day can be a celebration—and wherever there’s a celebration, there’s a menu waiting to be planned. In his second cookbook, Let's Party , the New York Times bestselling author dishes out more than 100 of his larger-than-life recipes, organized into sixteen distinct dinner parties designed to take the guesswork out of what to serve when and what goes with what. Some celebrations are familiar, like Giving Thanks (but—surprise!— we’re having roast chicken), and others prove any time calls for entertaining: Breakfast for Dinner makes your pajamas party-worthy with RAISIN WALNUT BAKED FRENCH TOAST (which you can assemble ahead of time). The menus and recipes will carry you through every season of life, and of the year, too: When the sun comes out, lay out by the pool with BEANY BIKINI DIP or cool off with no-cook-tomato sauce SUNSHINE PASTA . After the showers bring forth flowers, carve out a night for LAMB CHOPS WITH TANGY APRICOT SAUCE , one of Bimpy’s forever favorites. Bet you never thought of PUMPKIN CIDER BRAISED PORK SHOULDER as a way to get your seasonal spice fix! And, of course, you’ll know when it’s time to preheat your oven to replicate Dan’s iconic Holiday Cookie Party . Whether you follow a menu as is or mix and match recipes, Dan helps you find the joy in every part of hosting, from setting the guest list to politely letting your company know when it’s time to go home, sharing his favorite family tidbits along the way (including his dad’s guide for Italian American slang—capisce?). For seasoned hosts and first-timers alike, this book is your manual. Save the date, dress up the table, and choose your outfit . . . now LET’S PARTY! Dan Pelosi is the Italian American meatball-making-meatballs behind GrossyPelosi, the popular Instagram favorite for all things food, comfort, and lifestyle. Approachable and tasty, Dan’s dishes are meant to be shared with the ones you love. Dan is the author of the New York Times bestselling cookbook Let’s Eat (2023) and regularly contributes recipes to New York Times Cooking. He splits his time between Brooklyn and Upstate New York, and you can always find him online at danpelosi.com or @grossypelosi on social media. Information Source: Books Are Magic | eventbrite

DOORS 7PM | SHOW 8PM “NYC's hilarious cult-favorite pun competition ... both an endearingly homemade and impressively high-caliber show during which astute wordsmiths spin clever and very funny puns to a packed house.” -The New York Times The PUNDERDOME® is NYC’s Comedy PUN-SLAM Compuntition! Founded by a Rodney Dangerfield impersonator and his alleged daughter (Fred and comedian Jo Firestone), the PUNDERDOME® has been a fixture on New York’s comedy landscape since May 2011. The alleged dad will be hosting tonight! Show will feature our Main Event - the ALL-STAR TOURNAMENT OF PUN CHAMPIONS , where punsters deliver two-minute pun-stand-up routines, after only two minutes of preparation! PUNDERDOME® Champs and others will pun it out for ’Dome bragging rights and “As Seen on TV”-type prizes! And, that’s not all... We’ll play “Can You Beat THE ’Dome Champ?” where a Challenger takes on Current Punderdome® Champ in a one-on-one 2-minute PUN-OFF. Challenger can opt to get topic 24 hours in advance and use any human and non-human resources (INCLUDING AI) in preparation. ’Dome Champ gets no advance notice AND learns what topic is when the PUN-OFF begins! WINNER GETS UP TO $100! NOTE: At the December 7, 2022 PUNDERDOME, Wall Street Journal reporter Ben Eisen challenged a PUNDERDOME Champ in “Can You Beat THE ’Dome Champ?” and prepared by digesting four-hours of ChatGPT research. He went down in defeat but did survive to write about it on the front page of the WSJ: "I Entered a Pun Competition. My Jokes Were Written by an AI Chatbot" Six individuals who sign-up at the bar (doors open at 7:00) will have a chance to punticipate in the PUN BATTLE ROYALE . There will be PPPPs (Previously Prepared Punderdome® Parodies and Puntifications) . Pun-masters will be determined by the calibrated “Human Clap-O-Meter” who “accurately and scientifically” assesses levels of audience applause. WARNING FOR THE FAINT OF HEART: the ’Dome is THE spectator sport ; it gets loud – decide to attend at your own risk! Hearing protection gear recommended! Punderdome Reviews: GQ Magazine shouted the Punderdome® as one of the “ 5 Funniest Nights in America ,” and quoted comedian Chris Gethard on why it’s great: “The crowd. You’d think you were at the Roman Colosseum. They’re passionate, to a level that feels dangerous. And to reiterate, this is a pun competition.” The New Yorker’s “ Battle of Wits: A Report from the Punderdome ”: “Can you imagine a more potent cure for the weekday blues? Here was concentrated, unabashed silliness that I longed to bottle and smuggle out in my purse.” Swing American : “The intellect on display is stunning. Hardly a pun is repeated throughout the entire night. What Punderdome ends up achieving is the transformation of the delivery of the lowly pun to one of the greatest displays of human ingenuity contemporary New York has to offer." photo credit: Martin Lei LITTLEFIELD INFO: I CAN'T FIND MY TICKET?! - You can check in with us at hey@littlefieldnyc.com. From the bestselling author of Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat —and one of America’s most beloved chefs and teachers—125 meticulously tested, flavor-forward, soul-nourishing recipes that bring joy and a sense of communion With all the generosity of spirit that has endeared her to millions of fans, Samin Nosrat offers more than 125 of her favorite recipes—simply put, the things she most loves to cook for herself and for friends—and infuses them with all the beauty and care you would expect from the person Alice Waters called “America’s next great cooking teacher.” As Samin says, "Recipes, like rituals, endure because they’re passed down to us—whether by ancestors, neighbors, friends, strangers on the internet, or me to you. A written recipe is just a shimmering decoy for the true inheritance: the thread of connection that cooking it will unspool." Good Things is an essential, joyful guide to cooking and living, whether you’re looking for a comforting tomato soup to console a struggling friend, seeking a deeper sense of connection in your life, or hosting a dinner for ten in your too-small dining room. Here you’ll find go-to recipes for ricotta custard pancakes, a showstopping roast chicken burnished with saffron, a crunchy, tingly Calabrian chili crisp, super-chewy sky-high focaccia, and a decades-in-the-making, childhood-evoking yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Along the way, you’ll also find plenty of tips, techniques, and lessons, from how to buy olive oil (check the harvest date) to when to splurge (salad dressing is where you want to use your best ingredients) to the best uses for your pressure cooker (chicken stock and dulce de leche, naturally). Good Things captures, with Samin’s trademark blend of warmth, creativity, and precision, what has made cooking such an important source of delight and comfort in her life. Samin Nosrat is a cook, teacher, and author of the James Beard Award-winning #1 New York Times bestseller Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. She was named one of Time 's 100 Most Influential People in the World and Chef of the Year by Eater . She is the co-host of the Home Cooking podcast, a former Eat columnist at The New York Times Magazine , and the host of the Netflix original documentary series based on her book Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat . She lives in Oakland, California. Max Linsky co-created the journalism website longform.org and co-hosted the Longform Podcast, which wrapped a twelve year run in 2024. Pioneer Works is excited to team up with Public Records to present Tomorrow Comes the Harvest: Jeff Mills featuring Jean Phi Dary & Prabhu Edouard in the Pioneer Works Main Hall. Tomorrow Comes The Harvest is the cumulative effort of talented musicians and their shared visions of what makes the art form of music so special. The concept was initiated and brought to life by the late Afrobeat creator and Nigerian drummer Tony Allen and Detroit techno pioneer Jeff Mills. Each artist belongs to a long tradition of using music to reach higher levels of consciousness. Joined by veteran keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary, the trio toured internationally until the untimely passing of Tony Allen in 2020. By then, however, the foundation of the project had been firmly established and was ready to evolve. Mills has reconfigured the concept once more as a trio, inviting tabla virtuoso Prabhu Edouard to join the ensemble. Tomorrow Comes The Harvest is about exploring the unknown—transcending boundaries through the intersection of sound and rhythm, guided by an array of improvisational movement Information Source: Pioneer Works | eventbrite

Handwriting the Constitution is a social art project begun in 2017 by artist Morgan O'Hara . It invites people from all walks of life to meet in public spaces to handwrite the US Constitution or other documents written to protect human rights and freedoms. This art practice was created so that people will know their rights, deepen their understanding of laws created to protect these rights, and to help resist negative thinking. To date approximately 2000 people have participated, both nationally and internationally. The goal of this art practice is to encourage people to hold their own Handwriting sessions on a recurring basis; to create a physical and psychological space that explores the practice of concentrated writing as an art form, and a process designed to bring people together in a quiet and calming way, all by focusing on human rights. It has been identified as a powerful and transformative form of activism for introverts. Participants are welcome to work on their own journey through the U.S. Constitution, but are welcome to explore other documents of freedom such as the U.N. Declaration of Human Rights. We will have copies of both documents available for reference.
