Great Decisions Program | 26 Main St

“India: Between China, the West, and the Global South” will be the subject of the Great Decisions program at the Mariposa Museum on Thursday, May 1. The program will begin at 7 p.m.
The session, part of
a series on world affairs from the nonpartisan Foreign Policy Association
, will include a video. Robert Beck, a retired foreign policy official, and Peter Henriques, a retired international business executive who lives in Peterborough, will moderate the audience discussion.
Issues to be considered include how India’s emerging role may influence the dynamics between the United States and China.

The Mariposa Museum, at 26 Main Street in Peterborough, NH, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that fosters peace and understanding across cultural borders. The museum is wheelchair-accessible.

Peterborough Comic Con & Toy Fair | Vivacity Bushfield Leisure Centre

Open 10am to 4pm. Come and spend the day immersed in Comic Con culture with lots of people dressed as their favourite characters. We also have Retro gaming, facepainting, board and card gmaing areas, movie cars on display and lots of exhibitors selling everything from Star Wars to Stranger Things. A family friendly, great value for money event where everyone is welcome :-)
For ticket holders with additional needs who may find it helpful to enjoy the event in a quieter atmosphere we offer a 9.30am entry so that gives some time before the main entry at 10am where the event is not crowded or loud. BES1 Species and habitats (inc habitat classification) with Brian Eversham | Old Sulehay Nature Reserve

This workshop combines an introduction to the basic ecology of species and their populations, with a description and classification of the main habitats in our three counties. The second part of the day is a brief introduction to the main habitat types in the three counties, and how they can be classified.

BES2 Habitat Management and Monitoring with Brian Eversham | Old Sulehay Nature Reserve

The Trust puts much effort into grazing, mowing, coppicing and other activities – why? How do we decide what to do? What are the underlying principles? The day will concentrate on the underlying ecological processes in managing habitat, and the basic features of the major habitat types – heathland, grassland, wetland and woodland.
The last part of the day will explain the role of monitoring in conservation, and which plants and animals to record in which habitats.
