Conferences
“India: Between China, the West, and the Global South” will be the subject of the Great Decisions program at the Mariposa Museum on Thursday, May 1. The program will begin at 7 p.m. The session, part of a series on world affairs from the nonpartisan Foreign Policy Association , will include a video. Robert Beck, a retired foreign policy official, and Peter Henriques, a retired international business executive who lives in Peterborough, will moderate the audience discussion. Issues to be considered include how India’s emerging role may influence the dynamics between the United States and China. An article by Leslie Vinjamuri , professor of international relations at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, was published in the 2025 Great Decisions study guide. Copies are available at the Mariposa and at the Peterborough Town Library. The guide can be ordered online from the Foreign Policy Association at fpa.org/great_decisions or by phone, at 800-477-5836. The Foreign Policy Association was founded in 1928 to develop awareness and understanding of U.S. foreign policy and informed opinion on global issues. A magazine with in-depth articles on each topic can be ordered from https://www.fpa.org . To attend, please register via Eventbrite or call 603-924-4555 . The monthly programs will lapse for the summer, with programs resuming the first Thursday of each month beginning in September.
