The Red On Backyard Ultra is a unique test of endurance held within the military camp of Altcar, Liverpool . Following the backyard ultra format, runners must complete a 6.706 km (4.167 mi) loop every hour, on the hour, until only one runner remains . With no set finish line, the event pushes competitors to their absolute limits of physical and mental resilience. What sets Red On apart is its military setting , offering a fully contained course that is well-marked and marshalled within the camp. Participants will battle not only fatigue and sleep deprivation but also unpredictable weather conditions, all while embracing the camaraderie that defines the backyard ultra community. With a relentless format and an unforgiving environment, the Red On Backyard Ultra is more than just a race—it's an endurance experience like no other. Will you be the last one standing? Take part in this rare opportunity to enjoy a social meet to celebrate Lotus and the 2025 model anniversaries at Ketteringham Hall, 9.30 am to 12.00 pm Sunday, 3 August. This event is being held as an extraordinary breakfast meet hosted by the East Anglia area, with a road run afterwards for those who wish to participate. Ketteringham Hall and the Estate were purchased by Colin Chapman in 1970 and became the home of Lotus Formula 1. It is still owned and run by the Chapman family today - Jane and Clive Chapman are the Directors of the Hall and grounds. Their team is made up of a number of ex-Lotus employees. The Lotus Drivers Club and its members have been invited to enter the grounds to meet socially, to celebrate Lotus and the anniversaries in 2025. Opportunities to have your car photographed in front of the hall will be available from the group’s photographers. The event is open to all Lotus models and derivatives. It would be great if we could get examples of all the anniversary models at the event - Esprit, Eclat, Elise and Exige. Go on, bring yours along. You will meet plenty of friendly, like-minded enthusiasts. Depending on the number of registrations for the event, there is the possibility of a food van being made available for members to purchase drinks and food from. Our thanks go to Chatsbrook Finance, who operate their business out of Ketteringham Hall and have made this event possible. As this is such a special opportunity, the event is open to all Lotus Drivers Club areas and members, so why not make a weekend of it? To participate, you will need to register here. Only those pre-registered will be allowed entrance into the grounds. The price is £10 per car and registration closes on 31 July 2025. All proceeds generated from the event will be donated to the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Charity. For more information, please contact d.wenman@lotusdriversclub.org.uk We wish to ensure that you can take part in a relaxed, friendly and safe environment. The road run is a social run as defined by MotorSport UK. There is no competitive element. The route offered is a suggestion. You are free to follow whatever route you wish. It is encumberment upon each individual taking part in the run to ensure they comply with all aspects of the road traffic laws at all times. If you get separated from your convoy at any time, ‘waypoints’ are provided for the next official stop point so you can catch up at your own pace. Information Source: Lotus Drivers Club | eventbrite
