An Evening of Clairvoyance and Mediumship | Great Dunmow Maltings
Sep 17, 2025 (UTC+1)
Great Dunmow
Lorraine is a well known medium based in Essex. As a child, Lorraine always had the ability to sense and communicate with the spirit world. Growing up in her family home, Lorraine's sixth sense was very strong and she would often find herself knowing things before the events took place, leaving her family both shocked and surprised.
As she grew up her connection remained and eventually Lorraine took her first step into developing her gift and exploring her own path.
Her connections and evidence of life after death leaves people with no doubt that the spirit world does exist. Lorraine shows so much empathy and compassion with every message and makes everyone in the audience feel a part of the demonstration.
After many years of developing and exploring different aspects of spiritualism, Lorraine was then offered the opportunity to work on platform at one of her local churches. From that very day she has never looked backed. Her reputation grew and she found herself being asked to work all over the country demonstrating her Mediumship with bigger audiences.

Dunmow Music Club Live Acoustic Music Night | Foakes Hall
Jun 14, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Great Dunmow
Every DMC acoustic event at Foakes Hall features three fantastic acoustic live acts. Tonight, our amazing acts will be Eddi Reader & John Douglas, Grand Old Echo and David Myers.
Eddi Reader & John Douglas
Eddi Reader has effortlessly developed into one of popular music’s most thrilling and affecting performers. What sets Eddi apart is the depth and quality of the emotional performance and ability to not only move the listener, but connect her experience to that of her audience. No two performances are ever the same.
Though first brought into the limelight as front woman for Fairground Attraction, whose #1 single, Perfect and parent album, First of a Million Kisses, both topped the British charts, it was Eddi’s subsequent solo albums that signalled her ability to assimilate different musical styles and make them very much her own. Notably, The Songs of Robert Burns (2003) is a timeless interpretation showcasing the poems of Scotland’s national bard and gained her an MBE for outstanding contributions to the Arts.
From the traditional to the contemporary, Eddi Reader extinguishes the preordained boundaries of genre, bringing joyous life to all forms of song. Her rare blend of meltingly true vocals and towering romanticism combine with an astute and pragmatic nature to make her a unique and powerful figure in contemporary British music. With 10 critically acclaimed solo albums, three BRIT awards, a #1 single and an MBE in tow, Eddi continues to delight audiences worldwide. 2022 proved to be one of her busiest touring years yet, playing sell out shows as part of her ‘40 Years Live Tour’ in addition to appearing as special guest with the Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra for an extensive UK tour.
Eddi Reader and her husband, John Douglas, are embarking on a new musical journey together this year. With their songs, voices, acoustic guitars and concertina, the duo of Eddi and John plan on making an album later in the year using only this stripped back format.
DMC are privileged to be getting a first taste of this collaboration where over the course of a few summer 2025 dates, songs will be explored, honed and taken somewhere new. Both Eddi and John are excited to let their sound evolve in a friendly, intimate live setting before heading to the recording studio to make their debut Eddi & John album.
Grand Old Echo
Together, The Grand Old Echo create their affectionately named 'City-Folk' sound - witty and poignant story telling about life, death and everything in between, delivered through triple harmonies and the occasional rap verse, all laid over a variety of traditional folk instruments. Folk, Bluegrass and an Essex accent!
David Myers
Essex born David Myers, aka ‘The Brother’s El Camino’, is clearly inspired by American folk rock band, Dawes :
‘I hope your brother’s El Camino runs forever… and may all your favourite bands stay together’ (Dawes, All Your Favourite Bands).
His work is categorised as gravelly, piano-led Americana with an urban construction. His latest album, First Light Dynamite, is described by review site Rocking Magpie, as a collection of ‘starkly beautiful songs… there is most definitely an audience just waiting with baited breath for music of such high quality.’
Over 18's only.
