Wednesday 2nd April Fairfield Centre, Lowfield Street, DA1 1JB 12:30 arrive by, 12:45-14:30 event. The School Games Boccia Level 1 Challenge Card can be downloaded from the Your School Games website here: https://www.yourschoolgames.com/app/sports/sport-format-resources/6/ Our Boccia Festival is aimed at pupils in Years 3,4, 5 and 6, and school teams should consist of three pupils who fall under the classifications below: PMLD – Profound and multiple learning disabilities. For competitors who have profound intellectual impairment and more than one disability. Will probably require support with intervention during play. LF EBD/Aut/Asp – Low Functioning Emotional Behavioural Difficulties, Autism and Aspergers. For competitors with severe challenging behaviours that require support and intervention during play. HF EBD/Aut/Asp – High Functioning Emotional Behavioural Difficulties, Autism and Aspergers. For competitors able to compete independently during play but might require support as observation from the side-line. PD – Players with a physical disability. Throwing arm must have an impairment. If a player cannot throw over the throwing line they can use a ramp with an assistant. Les Autres – Players with a minimum mild learning disability, or a physical disability but with unimpaired throwing arm. If any school cannot field a team of 3 then providing at least one player is a SEND young person they are allowed to include a low ability, not accessing school sport, player in that peer group.
