Hello, My name is Helen McCormick and I'm a local artist and qualified art and design teacher. I've been creating objects from clay for over 28 years, and I still absolutely love the process. I am passionate about teaching and have created this workshop to share my skills, knowledge and experience with anyone who would like to have a go for the first time or to develop their skills further. My workshop is designed to be a relaxed friendly space where you can meet new people and have the opportunity to create, learn and have fun. Throughout the day I will teach you how to make a hare sculpture using traditional hand-building techniques. No experience necessary. All materials and equipment will be provided. Tea and Coffee will be available throughout the day. The only thing you need to bring is a packed lunch, an apron and wear old clothes if possible. There is FREE parking at the Walronds. Their carpark is located at the back of the building. To access the carpark you will need to turn up Tiverton Road off the High Street, and then turn left just before the fire station onto Shortlands Lane. It is a narrow lane and easily missed. Drive a few yards up the lane and you will see the sign for the carpark on the left. Turn left and follow the drive through the gate ahead. These sculptures are not glazed as the terracotta will age beautifully in your garden over time. Your sculpture will be ready to collect approximately 6 weeks after the workshop from the Walronds. I will let you know the date and time once they are ready. NB: I am happy to store your work for 6 months from the collection date, after which time your work will be donated to charity. Calling all Men - Who Needs Instructions is inviting you to join us for Breakfast. It's an excuse to sit around a table with a few other men, eating, chatting, laughing, and just having a bit of 'bloke-time'. There will be no other agenda.
